The last few announcements never materialized.
Trying to get a return on their "sponsorship" investment?I still dont understand why people post over there when they know about this place.
Not bothering posting. Last 2-3 group buys never went anywhere. I remember interest of 1000 setups of cards that never got off the ground
yes, thats the one I was talking about.Wasn't there a pre-order of a few hundred decks of CPS cards that never went anywhere either?

I dont feel like I was piling on, just stating facts from my past experience. If a group buy happens. GREAT! If not, not going to sweat it because my hopes aren't up this time.lol
I had three different things typed up that I just kept going back and deleting because, well, yeah.... I'm sure they are nice people, I'm sure they have a very nice product, but I will never subscribe to the notion that we are "lucky" they deal with us because they would rather have big customer business. I thought it was ridiculous when I've been told that before and I would think it was ridiculous today as well. I would love to have another group buy going, I would love for it to come from PGI, but I'm not holding my breath and I'm not even going to put enough stock into it to post in the thread over on CT. That's definitely saying something coming from me, I've supported CT and vendors plenty in the past, I just don't see the point right now.
I didnt login for 2 weeks, there were 6 threads that were updated. lolI don't think even NASA could achieve lift-off on a CT group buy. If @palmgaming wanted to make it work, PCF would make it happen.

I wouldn't buy *anything* -- even mint Paulson Vineyards, at ten cents each -- over there.
I wouldn't buy *anything* -- even mint Paulson Vineyards, at ten cents each -- over there. And I urge everyone else here, in our own self-interest, to adopt the same position.
I can understand your sentiment, especially since supporting this site is a great way to say thank you to Tommy for such a good site....
I'm pretty sure even @Tommy would buy mint Paulson Vineyards from the a blue wall classified ad for $0.10 each.![]()
How about we just let old grudges die instead of wishing ill will on people for goodness sakes. Just continue on here without knocking CT all the time. It will make you feel better guaranteed. All the haters....
Turns me off.
You miss all the hate posts Larry? You haven't seen them? Really?
Whatever - what I'm saying is that is the one detriment to this otherwise excellent site.

@jbutler - Are adding squiggly lines to your avatar?
No she's just naturally squiggly.
FWIW I haven't seen much hate for CT around here either. Maybe a lot of jokes and arguably morbid humor regarding the activity (or lack thereof), but not much hate.
However, there is exactly one reason that I continue to have an extremely low opinion of Greg and it is the first post in this thread in which he purposefully misrepresents the china clay line of Pharaohs as "true clay poker chips" and a "true compression molded clay chip".
I bitched about this plenty back in the days of CT and received not a single response from Greg. It was and is an abhorrent business practice and it made clear to me that he had more of an interest in advertising china clay Pharaohs than any meaningful contribution to the hobby. The fact that he knew these chips were garnering massive interest among people who had no prior knowledge of chips and continued to describe china clay chips in this way is despicable.
I can forgive and forget a lot, but at the bare minimum someone has to acknowledge that they fucked up. The fact that this misleading advertisement remains on such a prominent site and likely continues to confuse new hobbyists prevents me from thinking Greg is worth a single second of my time or any amount of support.
Sucks that they are advertised that way on a separate retail site as well...
