If they are chips you had to clean, I would oil after drying. If they are mint, I would leave them as is or do a very light oiling if mixing them with the former.

Yes hand cleaned, but I will be mixing them in with other chips that were not necessary to clean. I guess a light cleaning to get off the dust, drying and oiling. I've been reading and it seems like it's not determined yet if white chips color transfer more or less with oil.

Another interesting one... so when I bought my Pick Hobson $100s they are Red/White/Blue quarter pies. Many know that red on TRKs runs when you get it wet, it will engulf your magic eraser in seconds.. again just the red. The color transfer of the red to the white was horrific. Took forever scrubbing to get the "pink" off. So bad that I always stored the rack with the reds lined up to prevent further color transfer. I obviously oiled the chips and they have been totally random in the rack for over a year now, traveled to multiple meet ups hundreds of miles away. We have had absolutely zero red color transfer since the original oiling... just an observation but I think it is less color transfer with oiling myself.

I believe dust or small chip particle is like a pigment dye. When added with water it is capable of color transfer. I used an electric toothbrush to clean them and from what I've heard magic eraser is abrasive might cause these dust and particles. Idk. Going to do more research before anything. Color does run on rags from my last oiling of my previous set. I guess fine particles when wet does color bleed.
 
Overkill on the case or just right? On the fence about oiling them. Does the foam part wick off oil? The chips are already bright so I'm probably not going to the trouble to oil them maybe. Still willing to trade fracs for fracs or minty Primary $5s.

I may or may not have those two barrels. Was planning on trading .. but nobody seems to be letting $1Ks go. Or do you have the other two barrels and just prefer 80/20 racks?

I always get 80/20 racks for $25/$100, though frankly I don't think I've ever had a hundo on the table in my .25/.50 home games.

It provides flexibility for higher stakes, and honestly I just have a hard time buying a set without at least a barrel of those beauties.
