The surveillance station software is awesome. It's a little gimmicky with the camera licenses, but it's a one-time cost. Most 4 bay+ NAS devices come with 2 licenses.
I don’t mind having to buy the licenses for additional cams beyond the first 2. It’s actually not too bad when you compare it to the cloud costs of Nest/SimpliSafe cams, and pays for itself in less than a year. That’s a win-win!

Did you update to DSM 7 yet?

$$$$$....it never ends...

Took Trey (14) for his first practice drive at the mall before it opened (seriously, it's not like the mall is that busy after it opens at 10). After, I bought a western omelette with rye toast; he had the chicken wrap.

While eating, "Two out of Three Ain't Bad" started playing. I asked my son if he knew who sang the song, and I gave him a hint: he died yesterday.

He said, "Louie Anderson?"

I haven't yet... I'm a bit nervous. Have you?
Yeah, updated both of them. I have a 6 bay and 2 bay. I use the 2 bay with high-capacity NAS rated drives to back up the 6 bay that has SSDs. It only comes on once per day to do the backup then it goes back to sleep mode with no drives spinning.

Ever get that sinking feeling that you’re the sucker in a situation….

The build continues, by the hour of course. And why buy new parts when you can spend labor to make old parts look new! Heck $50 for a new oil pan, no let’s spend $150 in labor and refurbish an old one. Yeah, the money man has cut you off- finish this thing

Saw @Ben8257’s post the other day somewhere about the Apache cases being discontinued in some colors. l had to pick up another for myself. I grabbed the last yellow 4800 they had

I got one too. I
Now that my sets finished I’m debating on layout before I start plucking. I have an idea that I will post soon to see if it works

(Don't take this personally I just thought it was funny)

I think @Ben8257 secretly works for Apache. He wants some extra money for another chip purchase so he started this rumor so we all go buy all the cases and then he gets overtime at the factory.

I have two Nanuk 910s, two Nanuk 915s, two Nanuk 920s and now two Apache 4800s. The 4800s can fit 1200 chips with plenty of room for dealer buttons and two sets of cards so I think that's the route I'm going. Going to spray the foam with that rubber sealant later too as it's helped keep my other 4800 foam well connected. Planning to use this case with my Aria card mold tourney set.

Damnit. I should have PMed him for a coupon first lol

Yeah fitting the chips isn’t the problem as I only have 1000 chips. But I want them to display well when I open them. The 3800 was fine for 1000 chips but it’s just a little boring when opened.

Started like this

But changed it to this

But I want it different with 4800

With my first 4800 I only set it up for 1000 chips. Here’s how it is now.

Yeah I like the top layout but it holds less. I’m trying to incorporate a tray on the top level and clear boxes on the bottom. I just can’t seem to find clear boxes now. I need 5x20 not the 4x25 I used for my other set

You can fit 1k in the 3800 with 5 x 20 racks... but not much spare room!

And remember folks if double stacking open racks in a 4800 you need a "floor" beneath to correct the height issue. Chips need to sit above the lip of the case so they press into the top foam and hold your chips in the racks for transport.

Floor can be whatever you want but between 3/4" up to 1" thickness. I took some pictures today for another member. Should probably make a thread for it since I get asked all the time.

So I’m looking for the plastic clear chip racks with lids that work like warneke boxes and I plan to lay them on their side. I can prob fit 7-8 boxes like that with enough clearance on the top for chips to sit in a tray.

@Ben8257

Do you know who makes those translucent hexagonal cases that snap together? And where to get them?
@Apache but they have been sold out! I believe there is another manufacturer overseas but don't have much info about them. Matsui are very similar but haven't seen any of those for sale lately either! I have a few Matsui but not enough for what you're looking for. But don't tell anyone... they will blow up my inbox! Lmao not selling my racks folks don't try, it's not enough anyways!

The matsui racks are the ones people use for 43mm right? I have a bunch of those. But 39mm wobble around too much

Well finally buying a Solostove. When we visit family the other weekend two of them had one and they spoke highly of it. The way it's designed to do a second burn helps reduce the smoke that comes out. Going to set it up in the back yard for outside hang outs and should help me get rid of some tree trimmings. Helps that they are on a flash sale for the backyard bundles now.

I don't have it in hand yet but figured I would share in case anyone else was on the fence about getting one. It's about $100 less than I would have paid on Amazon.
