Curious if anybody has experience with an older/heavily used set from CPC. I recently got samples and love the feel. I'd assume they age similarly to Paulson's you'd find at an older casino, but I haven't seen any pictures of a "broken in" CPC set since the majority of the photos posted here are people's sets right out of the box. Do they age similar to a Paulson at my 'ol poker room? Or is it more accurate to say that no home game use is going to fade the texture or the edges substantially over a lifetime?

How frequently do you play? You have to consider that casino chips are in use 24/7/365.

So, I can't help with CPC. But I can say, my ASM set of Bulldog Rounders (which I used last week) has about 600+ games on them. And homemade hooker juice. And CPC is the same equipment as ASM, but I don't want to act like they are exactly "the same".

They broke in fantastic. Dense, feel like chips from the 70s. Still is one of my favorite sets ever.... And ill say, not alot of sets will get 600+ games on them in a lifetime around here....

@Saoliver can confirm. His first trip here he got to shuffle them and.... There isn't much better to shuffle on this earth. Not gonna lie.

Can confirm, they are harder. Paulson's are actually really really soft. That's why they are so nice to mill. ASMs on the other hand are horrid to Mill. Hard and prone to snapping. Way less flex.
 
To be precise, chips (CPCs) falling on a wooden floor repeatedly without fleabites is a personal testimony, not something I read here.

And, to my knowledge, there have never been color transfer issues (from a dark edge spot color to a lighter base color) with CPCs, unlike with Paulsons. @upNdown

Those are beautiful. I genuinely like the look of them out of the box but haven't the experience to know how these things change with time. Hope to have a home game running like that and with equipment like that one day!

Trust that CPC should be able to look pretty much great for the lifetime of any home game. There have been some ASM casino sets that showed some good wear, but it would never be to the level of any home game.

My CPC sets have use in a regular rotation and have been played many many times, and still look new. Those ASMs have the most use of any set I own.

Well said. I'm a newbie, but I employ Pauslon and CPC in my games.

I've got a now near mint set of RHC Jack Detroit, used only once, and I've got numerous flea bites. One chip took a fall, didn't survive. Chipped off the edge. I've also dropped a THC chip, and it also bashed in the edge. Laminated flooring.

The same falls have been taken by CPC Rounders chips, and not even a mark.

I truly believe CPC are more durable than Paulson. Sure my experience is not much, but I've got minty Paulsons and CPC bought roughly the same time and the proof is I don't have any damaged CPCs. I've used the CPC set at least a dozen times and it still seems new.

They did every game for my home game for a long time. Games been going since 2001. And we play 62-65 times a year, religiously. Then about 1/2 the games for a couple years, and now maybe one every 2 months...... I wouldn't be shocked if the count was higher, but I don't have a realistic way to figure it out. But I do know homemade hooker juice is there! That's home grown!

My 2 Paulson sets (one sold, one existing) cost me disproportionately higher than my 4 CPC sets (one sold, one existing, two under delivery).
What I hated most about putting together the Paulson sets was waiting forever and begging.
