What Chips do you Consider "ICONIC"? (2 Viewers)

There’s no doubt dice is the most iconic chip.

The word iconic to me implies ubiquitous knowledge. This means probably, dice, WSOP chips/replicas and rounders, though I’m not sure how many normal people paid attention to the chips in the movie.

Most iconic on PCF (including the members that don’t log on anymore)? I think it would be WTHC, NAGB chips, CDI, and Classics.

Edit: On second thought I think it would be apt to call the BTPs an icon of bold, bright, and colorful design. I actually think these fit the definition of the iconic descriptor better than other chips mentioned here.

Nice chips, but not iconic. Iconic would require history and a baseline IMO.

I had to look it up to confirm, but history can be a characteristic of iconography, but something doesn’t need to be historic to be an icon.

Iconic: of, relating to, or having the characteristics of a thing regarded as a representative symbol or as worthy of veneration.

If I asked someone to think of a bold colorful chip and inlay design I think a lot of people would hold up BTPs to be somewhat of the pinnacle of that.

Hence why I said IMO.....

None of the NAGB chips would be Iconic to me. Maybe AS because it was such a huge shock it happened. But I would argue it was it happening rather then the chips that's changed the game into Iconic levels....

And lol at nagb chips being iconic. I've owned a few and they are very nice, but certainly not iconic.

I would suggest gloss inlays preclude anything from being classified as iconic. Yuk
 
IMHO, several AS and ES and BTP and SB chips may have become iconic in their second lives, having been re-labelled to represent their owners' genuine tastes and feelings, instead of the original, either too generic or ridiculous labels.
An icon is a personal thing.
Not everybody believes in the same God, in the same way.

You have to climb upscale nowadays to find a "true" BMW (mostly M-division) and if you can afford that you may already be in Porsche territory. And there are no cars made with more respect and care for the true, spirited driver than the latter.

Porsche now makes most of its money by selling station wagons. :cool

Sure, light-weight is paramount.
But when it comes to supreme build quality and durability over decades, value for money and resale, there is nothing to match the Porsches.
Sure, the iconic 911 has grown too large (not too heavy though, for its size), but there is also the nimble Cayman.
And if a car builder can afford to offer uncompromising sports cars built to last, such as the 911 and the Cayman, by selling fine trucks or even drugs, so be it.
Lucky money (lottery, inheritance etc) could be spent to other cars, including Ferraris etc- you name it.
Hard-earned money, IMHO, should only be deposited at Zuffenhausen. :)
