Lightning Strikes (14 Viewers)

I don't know how the Canes didn't get a goal in the 1st period. Amazing D there.

The New York Rangers don't officially own the longest Cup-less streak anymore!

Just curious as to why so many successful teams spending so much time hating on a team that hasn't won a CUP since 1967....?

Where does the jealousy come from? Where does all the hate come from? Hmmm...?

I guess dark hearted individuals enjoy seeing others suffer year in and year out and while they see the suffering they like to incur further suffering. YES I said suffering. 50+ years of suffering in a city that has a hockey rink on every corner and millions of little kids not knowing what a playoff run looks like. THAT IS SUFFERING.

Besides the whining you guys are doing and the salt to the wounds you are throwing...… The Leafs were an utter disgrace. I have nothing else to say about that. They were pathetic and being paid handsomely to be pathetic against a Pathetic Montreal team is a disgrace. THE END.

With that said good luck to the remaining teams in winning the Covid Stanley Cup. Must be nice to have fans in stadiums. Up here in Ontario, the schools have officially been closed for the year, and nothing is really open except for big block stores and golf courses (thank god).

While we watch all of you south of the border celebrate whatever sporting event you are attending... enjoy it... because up here were an absolute tyranny and dictatorial state. Oh and the government signed off on postponing elections.

LEAFS? THAT is pretty low on our priority list up here.

I sincerely expected the Leafs to do better this year - they have top shelf offensive talent and brought in some veteran grit that I thought would help them in the playoffs. Your stars definitely underperformed. I wish them no ill will and simply enjoy the hockey and the competitive banter. Hopefully my friends north of the border can enjoy some in person hockey soon.

It has been tough. This is a nut punch to a pathetic year up here in Ontario. As I said our province is shutdown, the Raptors moved to Tampa and were pathetic, the Blue Jays now play in Buffalo, the leafs lost in an embarrassing way - to a hated rival (there are so many montreal fans up here in Toronto thanks to Montreal tearing the league up in the 70s)…. the CFL seems to be a no go this year..... what is left?

so its just as well that we lost... we only just got golf back and government just shut down schools for the year.

Oh and my loved Toronto FC calls Orlando home and they are pathetic as well.

I could go on, but yes us Jockos up here are losing our minds.

Until you become a Detroit Lions fan, you don't get to even breathe a word about "suffering".

Um. Yes I do.

How do you want to tackle this debate? The fact that NFL makes it so difficult to get into playoffs and then has one game off to progress to the superbowl or do you want to discuss how in the NHL you play 82 game marathon to get ousted in round 1? Do you want to discuss the 1993 Stanley cup playoffs? Or perhaps that playoff loss to the bruins a few years back being up 4-1 in the 3rd? I can go on... but are you so desperate to be the most suffering team in all of sports? Sure. You win. If that is the case, you at least have that title.

True story:

As a young child, I had a vibrating electric football game which featured two non-descript teams. As a big Packers and Lions fan (and Bears, from the '40s sports history books I read), I painted the two teams to resemble the Green Bay and Detroit uniforms.

After several years of extreme disappointment (Lions) and elation (Packers, go Vince / Bart / Paul / Ray), I finally altered the white jerseys to resemble the Cowboys. I love Detroit, but fuck those Lion losers and the Bill Ford horse they rode in on.

Funniest part of the story is that the white team almost always kicked the crap out of the yellow/green team. LOLOL

Do they collect those rattles on the way out of the building ? Sound more like a square dance in Tampa than a hockey game. They had their chances on that power play, and now the Canes are right back in it.
