Buying my first set of 500, to be used for cash and tournament style games. This is the breakdown I have wrote down so far:
Chip denomination(amount)
25(200)
100(125)
500(100)
1000(50)
5000(25)
For cash games, every denomination will be made into cents, so 100 is $1 etc.
My thought process being - we are college kids so we’ll be playing a lot of .25/.25 and the occasional .25/.5. For this typically 8 handed with less experienced players who tend to 3-bet less and call lots of preflops without a raise, I went for an abundance of 25 chips. I’m not sure whether that’s a good idea or if I should just go for 150 chips for both 25s and 100s.
for tournaments i have it marked down as a 10k starting stack (12-12-7-5 start and then introduce the 5k chips as the game goes on). This should work fine up to 10 players with my current breakdown.
I am by no means experienced in this type of thing so all advice is welcome.
Thanks!
