Looking to purchase 500 chip set for home games. No more than 10 players, usually 6 - 8. Looking for advice on chip numbers and denominations. No cash games, only mini tourneys.

Blinds will start out 25/50bb. Like to provide 100bb, 5000 value.

Chips I'd thought to use are:
Chip value (number of chips)
25 (100)
100 (150)
500 (125)
1000 (100)
5000 (25)

Can you please provide any changes and reasons for these changes. Am going to purchase another few sets of chips for no other reason than the fun of it. Also I am in need of a quality folding poker table? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

There’s no reason you need 500 chips for a single table T25 tournament. 400 chips is fine.
Here’s the @BGinGA approved setup:

T25-base -- 12/12/5/6 T10K starting stacks (200BB with 25/50) and 100% re-buys, or up to T25K stacks (500BB) and no re-buys:
120 x T25
120 x T100
50 x T500
75 x T1000 (includes color-ups for T25/T100)
35 x T5000 (includes color-ups for T500 and re-buys/larger stacks)

If you’re in need of a folding poker table, the best deal in awhile can be found in this thread. The LED Barrington one is still $169 for some reason and who knows how long it will last:

500 chips for a single table is a lot of chips, as others have said that many chips are not needed but 500 chips is just fine, the more experienced your players the less chips you need

The 25s will only be used for the blinds, because of this you don't need many of them, if you have to many 25s on the table they will get in the way I recommend 8-12 per starting stack

The 100s are most likely the most used chip so lots of them in each starting stack is recommended 8-12 seems to work

The 500s are the odd chip out because the 1000 chip is only worth twice as much you don't need many of them. 4 at a minimum in each starting stack, but not to many more

The 1000 chip will be used a lot later in the tournament, less players will be at the table so

A 5000 is not needed at all, but it pay to have some just in case you want to play a deeper game or choose to start your blinds with 100 chips

My guess is you can pick chip denominations in lots of 25, taking the above into account my recommended breakdown for 500 chips is:
100x25 150x100 75x100 150x100 25x5000

10 Player Starting Stack:
8/13/7/??

Have fun
