I have the motor pictured below. The center post (that is flat on one side) turns. How do I attach a nut/bolt combo to that center post? I guess there is some sort of specific attachment that I need. What is it called? Thank you.
So I'm trying to build an automatic tumbler for my Ultrasonic. I have about 2000 more chips to clean and I'm tired of spinning the salad thingy by hand.Yep “D” shaft is the key search term. “Coupler” or “collet” or “set screw collar” may be helpful too... so what are you trying to do?
I'll let you know when I figure that out.Yes, that looks like it will connect to the motor. What is going on the other side?
The idea is too have a 6" (in length) bolt attach to the motor, which would be secured on the opposite end with a wing nut. So now it looks like I need to grab some sort of attachment that is 6 mm on one end and will fit a 1/4" bolt on the other end.... I think.Yes, that looks like it will connect to the motor. Probably best to stick with Metric OR Imperial on both sides. Otherwise, you're just setting yourself up for frustration. The idea is too have a 6" (in length) bolt attach to the motor, which would be secured on the opposite end with a wing nut. It's probably best if I didn't attempt this.Probably best to stick with Metric OR Imperial on both sides. Otherwise, you're just setting yourself up for frustration.
This is one of those classic situations where by the time you solve your problem, the problem would be long gone if done the original way lolIt's probably best if I didn't attempt this.
Thanks so much!https://www.amazon.com/uxcell-Aluminum-Coupling-Flexible-Connector/dp/B07G6PQS5V/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=6mm+to+1/4+flexible+coupling&qid=1611204152&sr=8-3&th=1
This might be kinda nice - 6 mm to 1/4. They have some flex to accept a little misalignment.
