My Journey As A Professional Poker Player (11 Viewers)

Checkraised flop and he stacked off, I bricked

He check-called flop pot bet, then checkraised turn

Figured he had straight, but with fd and 2 pr was willing to gamble

I either double a fishy player who drives action and usually gives the money back, or I bust him and he rebuys

We're all rooting for the man to kick people's asses left right and center. There's no question about that. Even so, its refreshing in a poker sense to see full transparency with regards to this man's +/- sessions. Others will probably vouch for this as well, but we've seen a fair share of those with only + nights and not a single hint of a - night. Makes you wonder why they haven't won 20 bracelets already lol

Go get 'em @Anthony Martino. PCF crew always rooting for ya!

Thanks!

I win 2/3 of my sessions and lose 1/3 which I think is fairly common for most winning cash game players

Whiffing so many monster draws for like 5 dealers straight was a bit discouraging, but I'm not going to sun-run everytime and I did opt to gamble in some spots where I knew I was behind because of the player who was in the hand

Yup, 100%. Anybody sitting at 2/3 should be happy with their performance.

Can totally relate on the whiffs. Those nights are brutal when your outs are enough to fill a room but yet they just don’t appear. Makes you wanna have a one on one with the poker gods. “Wtf is wrong here, where’s my out????” Lol

I just blame the dealers, wouldn't dare blaspheme Poker Jeezus

Just an update that I didn't play Saturday, was feeling a bit run-down. This week at Hard Rock Hollywood the WPT is in town with a big series. Meanwhile in Tampa they're holding a $200 buyin 50K guaranteed multi-flight 2-day tourney known as the "Little Slick"

I had planned to take most of this week off. Just like a "regular" job it's important to find time to unwind and take a break from it all. I recently started playing Dungeons & Dragons again and ordered up a bunch of books so I've been enjoying reacquainting myself with the game.

I am planning to hit the Tampa Hard Rock on Friday. Planning to play the last flight of the Little Slick event and if I survive will be playing Day 2 on Saturday (otherwise taking Saturday off)

Planning to return to a regular schedule next week.

Hope you are playing Gary Gygax rules. :) I still play and tried playing by the newer rules, but could not do it. So, I pulled out all my well worn Gygax rule books....and started over. Having a lot better time playing.

I grew up playing Advanced D&D and played 3.5

We're playing the new 5th Edition ruleset so I'm still learning it

I am not a huge fan of the 5th edition but I only have limited experience with it. I played a hybrid mix of 1st, 2nd, and some elements of 3.5e.
I love the older books. I still have most of them from when I played. I love the revamped monk from this Best of Dragon magazine. If anyone is interested I have pdf's of just about every book pre 5th edition, including all the Dragon magazines, Encyclopedia Arcana, Spell Jammer, ect...

Sorry for the derail, I get all geeked out when is see D&D talk going on.

Same to you!

I sold an original box set many years ago to an avid collector. My brother was big into D+D back in the day, and even had a change to invest in the start of Ral Partha back in the early 70s (which he was too young/poor to execute) when we were in Cincinnati. Growing up, I had many old figures from his connections. I think I still have some of them, somewhere....

I was just up the road from you back then. :)

The Basic and Expert sets were Christmas gifts from my parents when I was a kid. I must have read those rulebooks and the modules that came with them a hundred times, even though it was years later before I played my first actual campaign.

I think I still have the modules around here somewhere, but the boxes and dice are long gone.

Pretty sure I could still run Keep on the Borderlands... from memory.

This is the book/box I remember except we had the version before The Keep was added so probably 1977? Just played until we hit high school. Once the drivers license was achieved there were more better ways to find trouble!

I think this was the version of the Basic Set that came before the one I had (red cover - 1980). But that's definitely the version of Keep on the Borderlands I had.
