the white chip is so ubiquitous it had to be made but making it high denom minimized dirty stack issues.

another valid critism I was given is making the green $20. I totally agree with that but the hot stamps are simple denominations soI felt that the .25 and $25 would be too similar. Plus $20s play so well.

honestly, a true dice chip set would have scrambled all the values and colors and introduced odd amounts like a $10 and $50 chip.

another clever suggestion I was given was a $11.50 chip. That one made me laugh. Also “not a dice chip” as hot stamp.

Actually I think these might turn out really nice. I've been watching some old Poker After Darks and they used something with a similar look for some of their sit n go tourneys in later seasons. And Wynn/Encore use the white only edge spots on their chips. Simple and classy. Can't wait to see the finished product

excellent metaphor. I am not car person but I’d bet there are people who have done exactly what you describe. Or at least dropped Ferrari engines inside vehicles not meant for them.

There’s a reason dice chips are popular. They have a good, simple, classic design

The reasons why they are terrible for your home game is
1) ease of someone slipping some chips into play then cashing out
2) general poor playability of slugged entry abs
3) nondenominated

Nothing bad about the classic white spots or 614 spots (rounders, anyone?)

Maybe not the first tribute set out there. I did a double take when I saw a post in the upcoming Chip Room sale thread that suggested these might be for sale in bulk in the near future. Rather dicey, to say the least.
