No matter how great a collection you have, no matter whether you’re a seasoned chipper or a newby chipper, no collection is complete without these......

Chippers and Chippettes I proudly present the ultimate chip

At least, people organizing underground $2/5 games with dice chips, honestly digging the latter for some reason (most probably inherent vulgarity and bad taste), could now get some game security:D

This actually says a lot about the current state of RFID as a ubiquitous commodity, that even the cheapest and lowest-quality poker chips - and in this particular case, the worst even among the worst (my god, look at the alignment on those dice spots!) - can be made with digital tracking implants and still sell for only 40 cents a chip.

Its nice to see the manufacturers in China really have their finger on the pulse of the poker chip world.

You know, this actually makes sense. An underground game may not give two rats' asses how nice their chips are, but they damn for sure don't want any counterfeits getting smuggled into their game.

And forty cents for an uncounterfeitable chip is a heck of a lot cheaper than paying for customs.

Do the slugs amplify the signal or interfere with it?

The ones I've played at have barely put any effort into their chips. I'd never bring in fakes because I enjoy having kneecaps, but it would be piss easy to recreate a label and throw it on Majestics. Not a knock on Majestics, but @CrazyEddie's point stands that for the same price they can get fugazi-proof chips

I wonder how, as a practical matter, something like this actually prevents counterfeits from being introduced. You'd only be able to detect the counterfeit when you check a stack on a sensor and then count the stack. That's not gonna happen every time someone pushes a bet into a pot, or even every time someone rakes a pot. At best it would happen when someone cashes out. But at that point all you'd know is that someone who was playing at some table in the club at some point earlier in the session snuck a bad chip onto the table. It doesn't help you find out who it was. It could easily have moved from player to player, and even from table to table.

There is a game at a local social club near me that uses dice chips for all their games including $2/$5 and $5/$10, but people who like breathing wouldn't dream of slipping fakes into that place. Not to mention you need to be sponsored by a member to play, so it would be on them as well. Fear is even cheaper than RFID.

I did mention using nicer chips one time and it didn't go over well, I quickly lost a few hands and went home.
