My Journey As A Professional Poker Player (30 Viewers)

I basically only watch Magic and some occasional speed runners. What are the big streamers playing these days anyway?

Is it Hearthstone Battlegrounds?

The big streaming games are Fortnite, Valorant, Apex Legends, League of Legends, Call of Duty, etc

My approach will be games I enjoy. I may be playing a fake character on stream, but don't want to play anything I don't have a passion for except maybe as a one-off

Looks like Call of Duty Warzone is pretty popular right now, and free to play, with decent graphics, none of that Fortnite kiddie shit

Downloaded it this morning and will check it out. I played COD many years ago and had fun, but prefered the Battlefield series at the time with their larger player counts and vehicles, destructible terrain, etc

I just bought a PC a couple days ago, haven't gamed in 15 or so years. Downloaded this last night and did the training stuff, feels weird being a complete noob at 34 years old. But I think it should be fun.

I gave up on fps games after Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament Though I was a pioneer in Team Fortress back when it was a Quake 2 mod... Or was it Quake 3. Jesus I feel old at 39.

LOVED Unreal Tournament, used to play at LAN Parties with friends.

Never cared for Quake though

There was a really fun Jedi one where you could use blasters and lightsabers, plus force powers while fighting in a team deathmatch that was a blast, but can't rememver the name

hilarious last night. Had a fish CALL a $240 bet on the turn, leaving himself $40 behind, and fold to my river jam (I flopped nut straight and top 2 pr on a 567 flop, there were 2 spades so likely chasing his flush)

In for $500 and out for $1,530. Actually been on a downswing this month. A number of big pots where I was a 70% favorite and still lost, a few spots where I'd have the nuts on flop or turn and they hit perfect river cards

Adjusted my schedule this week to play during the wee hours since they are more profitable.

Always enjoy seeing your updates. Sounds like even with that downswing, you're results are just variance and you're still playing well and getting it in good. All things that could happen at any hour of the day. Just changing hours for a mental reset?

The suckouts were primarily at Luckys which will remain a normal part of my schedule. But the games at the Hard Rock have just lacked action and had unfavorable lineups a lot, so switching my hours there to prey on the guys playing T644 for their stacks

Lol, I have :ah::7h::7s::6d: on a flop of :3c::7s::9h: against a preflop raiser who pots it and another lady cold calls, I repop to $700 and cover both, they both call off

She has 4569 and he has 33xx

First board she makes a straight, 2nd board he hits the one outer quads lol

I was about 50% equity three ways, guy with the 1 outer was 10%

Just need to have some hands hold and I will make a mint off these droolers

Isn’t playing video poker and games in the casino outside of poker a huge leak for poker pros?
Video poker and table games give the house a mathematical advantage, making it a leak for everyone that plays - not just poker pros. If you enjoy it, calculate your expected loss per hour and have fun.

If you're a degenerate it is. I don't crave action, and in the past, outside of freeplay I got from the casino, I didn't touch their machines

Some video poker games, if played optimally and with the right paytable, can actually give the player a tiny edge. And without the right paytable, the edge is still tiny for the house.

I earned my "Elite" card at the end of 2019, but they switched their system to not count poker in earning card tiers this year, only in earning comp dollars.

Despite that, prior to the Covid shutdown, I received regular offers of freeplay, giveaways, etc

Since the return I've gotten squat. So from time to time I will dable in video poker, which is helping me earn some tier points. Not sure if I'll be able to play enough to mantain my card level before the year is through, but overall I'm up around $1,200 in video poker and I don't go crazy with it.

In for $600 at 1/2 PLO and down to $463 when I get my seat in 2/5/10 PLO

First hand I am in BB with

:ah::ad::ts::6s:

CO is the rock, button calls, SB calls, I call, gets back to CO who raises another $50. Button calls, SB calls, I repot to $250, they ALL call!!!

Flop :th::td::5c:

Checked to me, I shove flop, CO and button fold, SB calls with a 5 in his hand

Turn :5s: river :2c: and we're good!

HOLY SHIT DUDES!

So I'm playing three tables of PLO and Big O online. This hand comes up where I turn quad Jacks, river brings a flush, I bet, get raised and then see the pot shipped to my opponent.

I do a double take to make sure I had quad Jacks, and then see he rivered a straight flush. My anger turns to joy when I realize we just hit the BBJ that's been growing for awhile and sits at $2,275

That joy turns to Elation because they DOUBLE the jackpot Fri-Sun so my 50% share as the loser of the hand is $2,275!!! The winner of the hand gets 25% and the table shares the other 25%

They paid me within 10 minutes of me sending the screenshot. I've never been so happy to lose with quads in my life, glad I didn't bet the turn!

Congrats. I couldn’t find any info on Fox. How do you join? Or is it a private room?

the same software that Craigt78 uses for his Windy Crest Poker Room.

This one is called Fox Poker. There is a Facebook group called RealGrinders and then the one for Fox Poker is called 3 Stacks of High Society

They do rakeback too, and never had any issues with deposits or cashouts.

It's no Pokerstars level of traffic, but they get decent traffic for cash and tournaments

I'm on there too occasionally. About 150-300 players during peak times. I've found the cash games, especially NLHE, to be very reg infested. There are a few guys that basically play every table available of all the stakes. And they are decent.

The tournament players... Well... They're special.
