Troy (Vepr47) - BUYER BEWARE! (2 Viewers)

@BGinGA I shouldnt have to explain myself to you, but I am going to. I kept all this thief's info in a Google Spreadsheet in one cell. I pasted all of it and cleaned up some links and didnt see the relational info at the bottom with his mom's facebook page link. That was her only info. I removed it as soon as I saw the comment about family and realized the issue.

Please let me know if you are, in any way, interested in helping an honest chipper try to recover funds that were stolen from them. That would be beneficial to this conversation and to this site.

@ReallyGoodUsername Ill shoot you his info via PM

@BGinGA I have messaged him on his active facebook where he is messaging all of the other people and he has said nothing. The guy is a crook and actively avoiding paying me back. I am not sure why you are so quick to jump and defend a dude that has stolen money from a forum member. That, to me, "makes no logical sense."

A note about Facebook...

Keep in mind you won't see messages from people you aren't friends with unless you open the messaging app and actively select to approve those incoming messages. Otherwise, it's like you never sent them at all.

I already have, and you have chosen to be combative rather than listen to reason about possible ways to recover your money.

@justsomedude

  1. That is a great point, and that is why I reached out by email as well in August of 2019 and asked for a refund.
  2. That is also why I sent a PayPal request asking for a refund of the money in 2019 as well.
It is great to see people defending this guy. Kind of laughable.

Not defending, just pointing out possible reasons why he hasn't responded.

As others have already suggested, it can't hurt to call a family member if you have their info. Many PCF deals-gone-bad have been quickly resolved after some poor sap's mother put the fear of god into them. Sure, calling some dude's mom might be awkward, but if you get your loot... who gives a shit?

I dont know why it is assumed that I have his mother's phone number. I have multiple landline phone numbers that are dated that were attached to my original post accidentally and did not receive an answer at either.

I had a link to his mother's facebook site, which I found through interactions on Troy's public facing portion of his Facebook site, which you could all find extremely easily by going to his page and seeing all his activity.

Matt, very sorry this happened to you. I’m equally sorry, but not the least bit surprised, by the reaction you got from posting.

The individual might be quarantined on another planet. Give him at least 6-18 months before you even consider posting something negative. You’re the bad guy in this situation for only giving him a year. How dare you?

@BGinGA Your tone was a bit different when @Drumhoss was robbing everybody blind in the exact same situation a couple years ago. Sorry, just ran past this as I was looking into somebody else's similar situation and trying to familiarize myself.

Not to beat a dead horse, but how do I have any frickin' tone at all? You seem to think I'm defending him, but reread my posts -- you will find no such thing.

I merely asked if you had exhausted all avenues for trying to contact this guy, which clearly you have not. Sorry I didn't hold your hand; quit being such a big baby.

Lol Casino scene on his prove it post. @justsomedude

Lol, you resort to name calling, not surprising... you're a class act Dave.

Sorry to hear about your transaction going bad, @Chile85 . That really sucks. It sucks for a penny and it sucks for a pound.

I've been lucky enough to have never had a bad deal on PCF in years and years and I wish you could have had the same experience I had.

Anyways, imo, it's very, very helpful for all members to hear about those deals that do go bad. That's how the community can protect itself. I'm a bit skeptic of some of us actually helping the situation unfortunately. However, you posting your story can actually help US! So I'm very appreciative.

Not sure what the site policy is but I for one would love to learn the name of the person. If posting publicly goes against the rules of the site, I would love if you could privately PM me so I can protect myself and other members I'm close with.

Again, sorry you had a bad experience.

Lmao we can turn any thread into infighting. Why is this difficult?

Original Post: dude stole from me, here’s his info.

Response: oh man that sucks, thx for letting us know. Btw, Doxxing is against site rules and sorta borderline illegal, maybe take out the personal info and leave the rest?

OP - Ah my bad, didn’t know. Yes, here’s his various usernames (PCF, RL, FB, eBay) so no one else gets screwed.

Response -Thanks OP! Good looking out, let us know if we can assist in any way!

Idk how long we can both be in a thread before calling an admin to clean it up.

Lol yes fucked up. I got shorted ~2k last week in online poker. Others much more. I asked a fellow player, hey any chance someone might have his personal info or what not, I’m not gonna doxx him just shoot him a text. The guy said, yeah don’t worry. People are looking for him, doxxing is the least of his worries.

So at least we’re not approaching that far yet!

perfectly said, and i completely agree.

@ChaosRock I will send you his information via PM as I did for @ReallyGoodUsername .

@BGinGA @justsomedude @BarrieJ3 @JoshKifer

I would like to wrap this forum up with a huge shootout to @WedgeRock. He reached out to me and offered some of the most selfless help that I have seen on this forum. I wont state all of the details here. He quickly drafted paperwork that would allow me to obtain my money back and any damages. Using the same channels that I have used in the past to contact Troy, I informed him of my intent to use further sources to obtain my funds back and started immediately receiving responses. He sent me 100 chips and a partial refund of my cash. I am still short approximately $10, but I would call that a win, based on the hundreds I was set to lose. Troy never said an apology and defended himself because I said "I was in no rush." I asked for the full refund instead of the chips, since I have begun selling the set. I will just be adding these 100 chips to that sale and take the loss, a much smaller loss than I was set to lose without @WedgeRock. Thank again, I will find a way to pay it forward!

Well if going to bury some on the desert I can provide a shovel

@Chile85 way over-emphasizes my help. Candidly, it was his own persistence that got results. Now, if he would've continued to get ghosted, I was ready for Plan B, but nothing I did really paid any dividends.

And, although not everyone agrees with how much information was posted, @Chile85 did the community a service by putting out the warning bell on this issue. Too often, these things are not addressed, and more people fall victim. Hat tip, @Chile85. And even though it didn't work out the way you had hoped, I'm super glad to hear you were almost made whole.

I assume he will never show his face again, but just in case, it would be nice for him to be permanently banned
I have let the admin knows. How they choose to handle is up to them. The whole experience has kind of burned me.

Sorry it happened, but it's at least a happy ending.

I guess the morale of the story is, take extra precautions when transacting with relative noobs. Especially those that appear for chiproom sales, don't post a lot and then fade into the background again.
