Pcf appreciation thread (3 Viewers)

So I show up to buy the chess set and the guy is like “so how do you know this feller that he trusts you with $300?” And I’m like “Oh, of course he trusts me, I know him from... uh... an... Internet forum...”.:confused I literally didn’t realize how strange that sounded until it was halfway out of my mouth.
First rule of Chip Club is..... ;)

I agree with the post above, I'm nobody and I'm new hear so I won't act like I knew what is was like. What I do know is people like @Ethan always coming through out of the blue to help out new chippers. He's done so many kind gestures. I do believe this place is very special, rare, hard to find, and full of quality people. Even the people I've disagreed with (@BarrieJ3) I would still take time to help if he needed something. I do think there is so many positive vibes here, it's why I spend a lot of time on PCF. I don't really look at classifieds. I also deleted all social media.

Huge appreciation and thanks to @The Chip Exchange for all they do for everyone here!!!! Thank you!!

Just participated in my first ever sale with @The Chip Exchange. It was so much fun! The anticipation - the constant refreshing - the chatter back-and-forth with other members as we waited. I was floored that they stayed up until 4am printing labels after the sale. Great community feeling!

I know this has been said before but the vast amount of information about anything regarding chips here is amazing. In September 2019 I bought my first set of casino used chips and put them through an ultrasonic cleaning and oiling process. Without the steps and guidance from everyone in those threads I'm positive I would have had to work several times harder to get a lesser result.

Just this past weekend I did a full label removal on some AS snappers to create AS quarters. I followed the guidance in the Paulson: Full label replacement tutorial thread and did it all myself after getting some Gear labels. While I'm not looking forward to doing that again anytime soon I know I can if I really wanted to haha.

I love this place and the helpful people who make it great.

I had not participated in a forum sale since chiptalk days.

I appreciate that I can start off thinking I’d need 2x $350 + 1x $430 set of WSOP chips to spread a 2-table tourney, then see a post that made me realize I’d only need 1 of the $350 sets, then another post that I’d only need half of the $430 set, then another member who agreed to split the $430 set with me...
All this means I stupidly spent a bunch of money on cool WSOP chips that I don’t need but will really enjoy.

Thank you PCF!

A chip angel just dropped this off at my front door! Somehow he knew I had my eye on this chip!! Thank you @Saoliver!! You’re the best!

Thanks for the cool giveaway Freeroll, @kaimat . Little things like this to help people stay sane in these times are great!

(I was actually joking about mentioning me here. It was meant to be a kind of Trump-esque self brag kind of thing. Idk if it came off that way or just came off as me being douchey--which would maybe be the Trump way, so who knows?)

But all the same, thank you for the mention. We're all in this together.

The satire rang through to me in the end but at the end of the day it’s these types of things that hooked me when I joined PCF. Community building should always be celebrated. :)

I work in Public Safety at the University of Michigan Medical Center. Shit has been crazy the last few weeks. My team was disbanded and I was put on a COVID response team (front line work). Elliot, @gopherblue did his school thing there. He reached out to thank me for doing my job. It was a really nice gesture.

Today I receive what is probably my favorite bottle of Scotch as a gift from him. A bottle of Lagavulin 16.

Thank you sir. I was going to wait until after dinner to crack it open. I simply couldn't wait. Its as delicious as I remember!!!

Took me 20 minutes to find this thread, which tells me it's been too long since this thread has been bumped (ironically previously by yours truly)
Anyway with all the negativity spewing around the forum, I want to bring this thread back up to the current pages because there are still a few good eggs mixed in amongst us.

I want to mention @PGA PRO for being a stand up honest, fair, patient, and genuinely good dude (and friend) to Ben and I (as well as others).
There isn't a bad thing I could say to or about Nick.
So please know that your honest and good deeds don't go unnoticed or unspoken about!

I think we would all agree that it’s been less happy around here than usual and let’s not get into it here, but I’d like to just acknowledge how much I appreciate this forum and community and see if others want to do the same.

First up @thyechal very kindly offered to receive a group shipment from me and redistribute to 5 other members. I have had no prior interactions with thom, so what a legend really and it shows that as a community, largely we do look out for one another.

Not sure if this one is as much of a thanks , since it will impact my wallet, but @Tommy is running another large gb for the Pcf tourney set, which I’m very grateful to jump on given the great prices.

Cheers peeps
I’m pretty new to this forum but very much enjoy people sharing their amazing collections and reading people’s wisdom.
keep up the good work all!!
