Got it in 4, did make the same “mistake” you mentioned on attempt 2, but 3 and 4 were purely wrong suit. So it I were lucky with the suits could have done it in 2.

I guessed the right end of the straight, but I guessed the wrong boat card on the turn, on my first guess. Problem was it WAS the right suit for the turn card - 10d. So for guess two, I guessed 10c on the turn. Then all the tens were used up I figured it had to be a 9, so I got it in three guesses.
