As another addition to my custom chip sets, I’m trying to nail down the chips for a Wisconsin sports tribute cash set. Paulson chips will have preference, but I’m open to other clay options if they fit the bill just right. The teams represented will be the Bucks, Brewers, Packers, Badgers, and Marquette (maybe). Denominations will be $0.25, $1, $5, $20, and $100 (maybe).

I will probably never use the $100, but

1.) I’m a completionist.
2.) I feel like Marquette is already the black sheep of Wisconsin sports for almost everyone. Mostly because the city or state isn’t in the school name. I know I for one can never remember where the those schools are located. Seriously, where the hell is Pepperdine???? (It's Tennessee, right???)

Chips representing the teams are as follows

Locked:

Brewers: Rivers casino Des Plaines, IL $1

Badgers: Crystal Palace $5

Bucks (probably, almost locked) or Packers (maybe): Tonkawa $1

Maybe:

Packers: Lake Elsinore $2 (Maybe - I’m trying to sell myself on the brown/maroon being the color of a football

Packers: Souhtern Belle $25

Still in the air:

Bucks: I’m not opposed to switching this to something purple with green spots or some kind of red/green combo to match the 90’s or 00’s logos. If I go this route, the Tonks become the Packers option

Marquette: I like the Boulder Station $2 colors and spot patterns, but those are already the $5 in my Brewers tribute set. I wouldn’t mind the inverse of navy blue and yellow tri moons though

I’m torn on how I want to line up the chips. I’ve considered going in the order I learned to love them (Brewers, Bucks, Packers, Badgers, and Marquette) but I could also possibly go the more traditional route and go based on chip color (Bucks, Brewers, Badgers, Packers, the Marquette)

Anyhow, I’m posting for thoughts or ideas if you’ve got them, especially on filling some of the holes in the lineup. But mostly I’m posting to hold myself accountable to continuing to work on this set. This has been my downfall and stumbling block for every single set I’ve started putting together!!

It’s been a while since I’ve had progress on this set, but I’ve locked it up in some spots but still looking to mix it up in others.

The Tonkawa $1 is locked in as my Bucks representative. The colors are too perfect for that classics 80’s logo.

I’m struggling with the Packers chip though. I picked up some UB $25 NCV chips from @tallsbutler and I kinda like them sometimes and kinda don’t a few minutes later. What’s everyone’s thoughts on these? I like the look of the chip (probably even more once I get them cleaned up, but the arc yellow is more orange than I’d like, and the green is more limey than I’d like if I’m going with a true color match.

Or am I going about this the wrong way? Should I be looking for a yellow chip with green spots? I don’t feel like I’ve seen many of those floating around there either, but it seems like it’s be easier than what I’ve gotten so far if the UB are a whiff.

Or am I not seeing the forest through the trees? Should I run with the Southern Belle because it’s better than I’m giving it credit for?

I missed out on a nice option for a Marquette $100 chip in the Las Vegas Club $1, although I’m not sure how. They were posted several times and no one bit on them. So I was bummed about that for a while, but more will either show up, or a different option will wander along. That’s what I get for letting my chipping hit the back burner while I was busy moving. Priorities, man! Pics courtesy of @bernielomax

Ask and ye shall receive, at least when @DMack has anything to say about it!!

Marquette is now represented in the set as a $100. That leaves which $25 will win out as the only question left. At least until I find something else that’s even cooler than what I’ve got

I would definitely have to think hard about a nice yellow chip with green spots of some kind

I finally found the answer to my Packers chip. And it is exactly what I’ve been hoping to find!

Much like Green Bay this past year, it was pretty unknown, kinda came out of nowhere, and still wound up being a real heavyweight at ~11.5 g/chip (Official casino weight, without a trip to Ho Chunk!)

With all the chips locked in, except for maybe adding a Milwaukee Admirals chip as a $500 just for fun, I’ve got to start thinking about inlay replacement. That and picking up another rack+ of Tonks and 3 or 4 barrels of the Crystal Palace

I’d be remiss if I didn’t give a huge shout out to @kmccormick100 for first bringing these Singers into the PCF orbit, and then for passing them along to me after he found a better fit for his set. I’m pretty sure it was @bluegill who gave him the leg up on his Casablancas, so kudos go out to him too!!
