Windwalker discussion at convention! (1 Viewer)

Here are my proposed talks for next year’s convention:

- Life After Banning: What happens when they take your reply button away.

- From Fossil to Indocile: The impact of the chip community’s failure to adopt technology created after 1987.

- American Greed, 39mm Edition: Exploring the dichotomy between flippers and those that correctly loathe them.

- Gemetria, Dementria and Mike: How one chippers obsession with the mysteries of Gemetria helped stave off early onset Dementia at age 19.

- Get The Sippee Cup: an abbreviated and inebriated look at the meetup phenomenon.

- I Got Poker Sized Problems: A fascinating foray into the cult of poker sized playing cards and how they callously harm games with 5 or 6 whole cards.

- Mod Bod: An interactive and energetic workout that will get you looking and feeling like a ruthless authoritarian in 90 minutes or less.

- Chiptinder: An invite-only session that reveals a new chip collecting app (in round C funding!) that enables people to post certain chips they have and swipe left or right to make potential connections with potential buyers.

I’ll take “Get the Sippy Cup” for all values Alex. Good memories!

Answer #1: this meetup pioneered use of the sippy cup after spill #3.

Answer #2: this has been the primary drink in the sippy cup.

Answer #3: this is the size of the typical sippy cup.

Answer #4: this guest has “dibs” for the cup at the next meetup.

Answer #5: this member kept the cup full.

Answer #6: this table was the victim that led to introduction of the cup.

Thanks for playing!

very interesting, nice to see PCF metioned, hope to see what Krish brings to the table, (just send me PM's:) I'll be discreet) . What I find interesting is that , from my own opinion , I don't buy chips to make money, so the people that are concerned about losing money , when chips are discovered, is funny. I enjoyed the discussion at the end of the video, hard to hear sometimes.

I honestly don’t remember you being there.

Then again, I’m pretty sure I walked down the middle of Main Street at 2:30a doing the Christopher Walken elongated dance scene from the Weapon of Choice video while periodically stopping to do a Crazy Ivan every 50 feet, and upon seeing no cars anywhere, nodded to myself and said out loud “we’re still good, we’re still good”.

Thanks everyone! I'd love to hear the discussion about NAGB chips.

You guys teach me about NAGB chips and the backstories and all of that. I'll make it my next years seminar. I really enjoyed doing this one so I wouldn't mind doing another one. I'm sure a bunch of the older guys don't know much about NAGB chips and the backstories. Or whatever interesting topic you guys have an idea that would spark a great discussion like this one did.

I know most of the discussion was about Krish and how he's gotten to the point where he is, the chips he's found and what he really would like to do with those chips. I hope the majority of the people that watched the video or were at the seminar understand that he isn't really a singles collector. He might have a few, but the sets is truly what he loves to build. On top of that a majority of the sets he has don't leave his hands unless he truly doesn't love them anymore or he's got more chips coming than he has room for.

I believe that for the most part people are scared the amount that their chips are worth is going to decrease as they have been feeling the last few weeks. I enjoyed what @ovo said, "I don't buy chips to make money, so the people that are concerned about losing money , when chips are discovered, is funny." I feel the same way. Sure it's fun to get a more expensive chip at a nicer price and even sometimes maybe a bit more than what you'd like, but you should be buying chips for what you think they are worth. If you feel that a chip isn't worth $1k, then why would you be paying that much for a chip.... If a rack is worth $1200 and you feel that it is, then buy it. Don't second guess it because it might be the only chance you have to get that rack. A chip is worth however much someone is willing to buy/sell it for. That's what I've learned and I'm surprised every single day.
