10/6/11/5 Starting stacks

400 T-100
190 T-500
328 T-1,000
133 T 5,000
60 T 25,000

Its tight for color ups

any input is appreciated.

Should work fine. Use 25x1000 to color-up the T100s, and use 5x5000 + 2x25k to color-up the T500s. If it gets that far, you still have the extra 12x25k chips needed to color-up the T1000s.

You will end up using:
250 x T100
150 x T500
300 x T1000
130 x T5000
14 x T25000

There are many ways to skin a cat. I would probably not use the T1k to color-up the T100 because it's likely that the T1k will be colored off themselves, so adding them is a bit inefficient IMO. I believe that the 275 already in play are sufficient.

For future reference, one way to check if you have enough is to
  1. Check you have enough for the starting stacks
  2. Deduce the probable last level. In your case the "20BB rule" suggests around 20k/40k.
  3. Deduce which the lowest denom needed is for that level. In your case the 5k.
  4. Does that denom and the ones over it cover the total chip count (don't forget round-ups when coloring off chips). In your case: Do the 5k and 25k cover 1 million + round-ups? Yes, you have over 2 million
  5. Are the quantities in #4 playable? Yes, 130 5k is plenty.

Any thought of doing 15/5/11/5, instead to get more 100s in play early? Looks like you could comfortably do 26 of such stacks.

As for the color ups, worst case you are coloring up 15K per player (amount of starting stack in 100/500/1K) or 375K overall. So just 15 * 25K chips would work. I don't think that's all that tight.

I see you indicated no rebuys, and I think that is a necessity because that would require some T5Ks and T25Ks held in reserve and you just simply cut the T5Ks too close.

However, if you were inclined to offer re-entry, a T30K stack using 15/5/11/3 would lend itself far more favorably to rebuys as that would free up 50 T5K chips and a rebuy would only need to be 1 T5K and 1 T25K.
