Tourney will I ever need $100k & $500k Chips? (2 Viewers)

I have 600 chips so far that goes from T100 to T25000. I rarely use T25000 unless I do a deepstack tournament... I calculated the set to be as follows below...
My question is... Will I ever use $100,000 & $500,000 Chips?

Reason why I ask is becuase I want to get some in 50 mm size (like WSOP)... but I just dont see if I will ever use them....

Your whole bank from 100 to 5000 is 450k. I really don’t see the need for anything bigger than the 25k chip unless your games get a lot bigger. Maybe just replace the 25ks with oversized chips if you really want them.

No, you don't. And 25k are only needed for the color-up of the 1000's.

Man.. the OP set breakdown really has me scratching my head. Mind sharing what you starting stacks and # of players are? Not trying to derail the subject at hand, but my answer to your question would be maybe, in your refrence to the occasional deep stack nights. But the breakdown of this set kind of shot you in the foot right off the break. Any chance of increasing the # of T1Ks in the set? This should be your work horse chip after the first two are removed from play and 100 is not very many, seems like tons of chips in play a first and then next to nothing on the upper levels.

So if we could heavy up the top end of the set at all I would be happy to help with a breakdown where we get the big chips in play.

Our CDI set has denoms from T25 to T1,000,000. We wanted to get the plaques in play in VA at a meet up last month so we started with T500 Based. It's just numbers, if the set has a strong breakdown we can adjust to get the big boys in there.

As is, I agree with others here... no need for big chips.

No you don’t, but “need” is subjective. Like, those Indiana Grand 1Ks are beautiful. I “need” them in case my .25/.50 game grows so big that we have to stream it on PokerGO.

No, unless you want a bigger game, but you would have to buy more 5k and 25k to make that happen, (T100K) but having extra chips makes the set look bold, I like looking at extra chips

The denoms on chips are irrelevant. It all depends where your blinds start and how many players. Rarely would you need more than 5 denoms. In a 30 player 25k freeze out with 25/100/500/1000/5000 there are only 750k on the table. 150 total 5K. BGinGa suggests there should only be 2 racks of chips when it gets heads up. How often to you have 30 players? None of us need those chips but if you want them, just start the blinds higher. My big denom tourny set starts at 1K through 500K.

Guys thanks for your answers. This is single table tournament and typically 8 players starting with T15,000 during about 5 hours... so really a home game but man i LOVE the 500,000 in 50mm size, I just want them to be on the table.

Obviously you are going T100 starting here. My personal starting stacks for a rebuy tourney would be 40k or 200 BBs (first level is 100/200 so 200 x 200 = 40k) that is based off of the standard t25 /10k game that most people have been running for years (also 200 BBs).

Also absolutely nothing wrong if you want to go a bit heavier and round it off to 250BBs or 50K, just keep in mind that will cut down on your rebuys if that is how you are hoping to grow the pot.

For many of us a ture deep stack is 500 BBs and played freeze out, so no rebuys but your initial entry fee would be double (or more) of what your typical entry fee costs. (Now is where we can utilize those big denoms you were mentioning above.

I typically do this for my 9 handed table, but I was thinking that maybe I want to be prepared for a 2 table with 16-18 players max and be able to go up and up.

KEEP THE T25000 as is

1000 is a workhorse chjp during the entire tournament. You need as many 1000 ss the lower denom.

For one table freezeout T30,000 :

T100 x 100
T500 x 60
T1000 x 120 (incl. the ones to color-up the 100)
T5000 x 40 (incl. the ones to color-up the 500)

For 2 tables, double the quantities and add a barrel of 25k to color-up the 1000 (15 is in fact enough).

If you prefer 15 x 100 instead of 10 x 100 in the starting stacks :
T100 x 150
T500 x 50
T1000 x 120
T5000 x 40

You'll need to introduce already a T5000 in the color-up process is the 100 because 10 x 1000 will not be enough to color-up all 100.

I'm sure @Ben8257 will guide you right with tournament chip breakdowns. I'd say you want to get more $1,000 and $5,000 chips in your set -- I'd prefer almost as many of those middle to larger denoms in a tournament set as the lowest denomination chip -- because the lowest denom chip will be almost useless in the later blind levels.

I'd say get around 100 more $1,000 chips, and at least 50 to 100 more $5000 chips.

If you are looking for some oversize 'just for fun' - there's no problem with that, just maybe limit it to 10 $100k chips (or plaques) (or 25 chips, if you have to order in lots of 25) -- any chip denominations higher than that will probably not get into play with the stack sizes and chip breakdowns below.

11 x T1000 = 11,000 x 18 = 198

5 x 1000 = 5k x 5 = 25
2 x 5000 = 10k x 5 = 10
1 x 25,000 = 25k x 5 = 5

Rebuys 6 - 15 (you will never have a full 18 rebuys)
3 x 5000 = 15,000 x 10 = 30
1 x 25,000 = 25,000 x 10 = 10

Total chips in play before color ups.
100 - 180
500 - 108
1000 - 223
5000 - 130
25,000 - 15

Chip up #1 no T100s x 180 = 10,800
Also no T500s x 108 = 54,000

Total 64,800 we round up but you can also race. Sound round up to 80K to cover odd chips.

We need (20) T1000 and (12) T5000

Chip up #2 no T1000s x 243 = 243,000 round up to 300,000

We need (20) T5000 (8) T25,000

Chip up #3 no T5000s x 162 = 810,000 round up to 1,000,000
