Trying to create something unique for the theme I'm working on, but I thought my subconscious possibly stores great chip combinations or other's creations. I'm sure I'm close to other's designs (there's only so many). Aside from my gray chip which I admit is a rip off of my favorite chip of all time (the Paris 100k Baccarat), am I subconsciously ripping off or paying tribute to any other's customs or casino chips? Some members here are amazing at matching chip designs up, so I thought I'd throw this out at this point in my design journey. Even if it's close to others I doubt I'd change much but was just a bit curious. Thanks all!

given the limited pallete of "likeable" colours you will no doubt use colour combos the sre similar to chips you have seen before.

for example. different spot pattern. different 3rd spot but it could be argued that you are ripping it off. I wouldn't say that though.

Hard to say you’re ripping anyone off. Of course, it’s easy to have a chip or two that look very similar or identical to some other chip, but as long as the whole lineup isn’t a ripoff, you’re fine.

Take your time and be sure to get the design right. Custom CPC’s are terrific , but it’s a huge expenditure, especially with the spot levels you’ve chosen.

Right now, you have a dirty stack issue with the pink and blue chip—i.e., it would be easy for a pink chip to hide in a stack of blues, and vice versa.

Part of the point of different colors and spots is to make the chips easily distinguishable from each other.

Also different base.

I don’t see a single rip off here. And Davislane is the master of finding rip offs somewhere even if they aren’t there so I think you are good

thank you for recognising my talent! :ROFLMAO:

how people perceive colour is a fascinating topic. its natural that we all perceive things differently.

for the record i wasnt suggesting any of OPs designs were a rip off. just responding to their statement re their subconscious

The green chip is a spitting image of the Cameo Casino $2 from California. I have a couple singles of these (in used condition), so I've seen these before in person.

I don't think of it as "ripping off" though, that sounds too harsh, and nothing wrong with using similar colors -- it's more like a "tribute" set.

Why is there light and dark blues in everything?

Just pushing the envelope of what's acceptable. :D I understand the dangers of using like colors, but part of the theme I'm working on. Trying to see if I can tie chips together in this way while still sticking to this theme where each chip has a color palette for a reason as well as the whole set. Definitely appreciate any feedback and criticism. I'll be more overly sensitive to the inlay I'm designing :D.

If you are talking about the inlay, I am using Adobe illustrator. If you're speaking just about how I created the above (you being a new member), go here...http://www.pokerchipdesigntool.com/

No apologies necessary, everyone here was new to this at some point.
