Which year was your favorite WSOP Main Event? (1 Viewer)

Either your favorite, or maybe most memorable. Maybe you played in one?

I love watching the old ESPN videos with Lon and Norman. For me, my favorite was the 2005. I loved the Steve Dannenman story, and I thought Hachem was a classy champion.

2004, closely followed by 2005 for me. Fossilman was also such a likable character and the stand off with Matusow, the memorable deep run by Marcel Luske and the final table with Action Dan and Josh Arieh! Good times

Maybe stating the obvious but 03-04-05 is the best run of tv poker for me. Three outstanding final tables and numerous other entertaining wsop events were running on ESPN. I'll go with 2003 for its overall impact on poker.

04 for me. Was the first year I recall watching it on espn. And like many others, it’s when I got the NL poker bug.

2005 for me. That's the first one I really followed start to finish, and I loved every minute of it.

03-05 was just awesome. I enjoyed the WSOP coverage more than the WPT coverage even though I watched both.

The 03 main event is the #1 year for me. I had the DVD and watched it more times than I can count. Watching th clips from that year give me the most nostalgia.
Fossilman, Josh Ariea, Luske, Kahn, Action Dan, etc were great in the circus year of 04. Plus they showed a ton more tourneys that year.

I'll 2nd 2005 being a great watch from day 1A to final table. Get the Matusow vs Shieky back and forth. Andrew Black get at the dollar table and we get to see Matusow elated and then just crushed all on the same hand. So much fun to watch.

Those were great, but in 2007 when Jerry Yang won, they put the final table live on pay per view and my buddy ordered it and we watched it into the late night and early morning. We chatted it up that night and became really good friends and poker buddies.
And gotta admit, Mizrachi's win last year was pretty damn cool, considering he was all-in and way behind both late the day before the FT and early in the FT, and hit miracle cards, and then went on a heater to the title, and did it all like 2 weeks after winning the Poker Players Championship.

I have been rewatching them…lol. Love seeing the Rio GOAT chips in play. Currently on ‘08. Yang’s year was good but having to fight through Khan acting like an idiot every time he won a hand was painful.

watching, it was 03-04. It was the most amazing thing to watch. And the first couple seasons of HSP was also great. But my favorite main event experience was last summer by far. I was able to deal on day 6 I believe when they were down to six/five tables. It was the coolest dealing experience ever. The intensity was palpable. That is usually just a saying. But it was unlike anything else I've been apart of. Great to see how each player was dealing with the moment. So many emotions. So many roller coasters. You could see these players bankrolls being changed with every hand. So effing cool. Can't wait till this summer!
