Im sure I could check every casinos booking info but thought maybe I'd ask if anyone knows the most budget friendly place to stay.

I've stayed at Circus Circus which was alright, I think that was the cheapest I had found before so I could justify Ubering wherever I wanted to play.

My next trip I booked a room at Flamingo, didn't cost too much more but its closer to more action so I can probably walk anywhere I want.

So Im curious what everyone else likes if they are trying to be economical.

Have a look at treasure island. Great location and great resort for the price.

I guess "great location" is somewhat subjective... I think TI is not a good location as it is really far from the center of the strip. I kind of default to the center of the action being around Bellagio.

If I was looking for cheap and best strip location I would go with Bally's or Flamingo. TI is pretty far away IMO.

thanks for your comment. Very insightful.

If it's a guys trip, Flamingo all the way. We go the last week of February each year and the seem to always run promos for free rooms (just pay resort fees) w/ their Total Rewards program. Pretty good deal considering the location. The rooms are just fine: bed, toilet, sink, shower.

If my wife is tagging along it's Venetian (her preference) or Aria (my preference).

Planet Hollywood is great and almost always my crews go to (guys trip) The miracle mile shops are perfect for anything you need and the PH has a fun party vibe.

+1 to Bally's for cheap and right in the heart of it.

If you are OK with a one block walk (1/2 mile), Ellis Island/Super 8 is super budget-friendly, no parking fees (if you have a car), and the resort fee is 1/2 of what you will pay on the strip.

Cheapest place on the strip with a good location and no resort fees is Casino Royale. Rooms are nice and it is very small so you can get from your room to the strip in less than 50 steps.

In June I stayed at the Tuscany Suites, which is "right behind" Bally's. The room was huge with a full kitchen. The property has a beautiful shaded pool and is tree-lined everywhere. The price was like $7 cheaper per night than Bally's.

Using geometry, it's really not much farther to the Wynn and Venetian than the strip properties. I even walked to the Rio every day.

Walking to the Rio? You're a beast. I've made the hike once, and never again. June heat can be oppressive, that particular walk has zero shade, and you hike up and over the interstate.

My rule on Vegas walks is never more than a mile without shade during summer months. I'm not saying I can't do it, I'm just saying I won't do it.

The funniest part is that you can see the Rio sign from the hotel, so it doesn't look far at all. I think it's 2.2 miles. The side of Caesars is really pretty but walking across the interstate is a no mans land. I didn't do it at night, but I maybe saw 3-4 other people during the day.

The Las Vegas Haiku...

Everything looks close
But it’s just so far away
Now my poor feet hurt

I stay at the Rio almost every trip because they comp most of my stay now. I walk to the strip early in the morning every day. I may uber back depending on how tired I am or I will walk back to clear my head.

Get a players card for Total Rewards and M life then check their sites. They usually are cheaper than any travel site.

If you must stay in the strip, Flamingo gets my vote for price to location value. It’s not a long walk to any of the good poker rooms and the pools are decent.
