I felt that finding the right group of players / table selection and knowing how to play against them is the key factor for winning

You can be the world 8th best player but if you are playing in a table with 1st to 7th best player, you are mostly likely to lose more than win

Playing at a level where the chips represent nothing more than a way to keep score vs representing money. That level is different for different people, but it’s key IMO to being able to make the right decisions through good and bad.

• Ability to remain calm after the maniac's 1 outer hits (again, for the fifth time this session)

These were going to be my suggestions. The game outside the game.

- Knowing whether it’s hi/lo or hi only
- Luck
- Fearlessness
- Ability to successfully metabolize massive amounts of alcohol while playing and retaining some degree of critical thinking

Or just play with MatB but steal his horseshoe (note: stealing the horseshoe is not an easy path and starts with floating your boat down the River Styx).
