This is for live cash hold'em six to ten handed games. Other formats will potentially be different,
My default sizing is 60% pot. Adjustments for lower SPR situations. Keep in mind c-bet sizing stays the same for air, draws and made hands.
I avoid c-betting air on highly coordinated boards. Three to a straight / three flush / flushing + straight draw boards. Same thing in multiway pots. AKs vs four villains is a dubious hand to c-bet. More so if the field is sticky.
Dry boards are good candidates for a c-bet.
Villain tendencies trumps all. Position matters too.
C-betting with weak equity is better than with no equity. Runner runner situations are good for your table image
This is not a mindless part of the game. Heros will need to learn feel the right time for a c-bet and sizing from experience -=- DrStrange
Not sure what my percentage is, small I guess, because of late I’ve been way more inclined to check raise instead of c-betting. A lot depends on my position.
The biggest factor is how multi-way it is, c-bet bluffing into more than 2 people is kind of suicidal. Less than that I will pretty much always c-bet if the board is good for my range or dry enough and I want folds.
Heads-up or multiway? IP or OOP? SRP, 3!P, 4!P? Range advantage? Nut advantage? Current image? Opponent profile? Flop texture? SPR? All those play a major role in deciding what I do.
