Picked up a rack of starburst yellows recently. They have the starburst stamp on one side and a "B" on the other. Were these ever played in a casino or were they always intended for home use? Any info appreciated.

Maybe home use, maybe manufacturer's seconds, interrupted/cancelled orders, I'm sure these could all be plausible explanations. Paulson made tons and tons of generic Roulettes, too, so they would all have needed to be destroyed or cancelled.

So the starburst is a cancellation mark?
As one usage, yes, it can be. It's also just one type of decorative hot stamp, since Paulson has never sold blank chips -- of any kind -- to anybody.

Back in the day could you just buy startburst chips with the hot stamp in bulk? Like were there retail stores where I could buy 100 yellow and 200 red and 150 black?

Just curious how these ended up in people's hands today.

Yes you could.....

Use the wayback maching and lookup casinocom.com website from (1999-2001 or so) and you will find you could order solids and edgespot Paulsons with your initials or starbursts, etc... for .50c/chip or so. Also a hugh selection of Paulson fantasy chips.

I got into this game too late :)

Just like online poker. By the time I showed up everyone was good and I got taken to the cleaners.

Interesting. Is there any way to find out which kind I have?

Cancellation stamps are typically stamped over an existing hot-stamp design or inlay, essentially canceling the original validity of the chip.

Somebody had to do it:  :ROFLMAO::ROFL: :ROFLMAO::ROFL: :ROFLMAO:
