We play either .05/.10 cash games, or tourneys starting with T1000-T2000, depending on number of players and available time.

I have this Claysmith Showdown set:
5 x 200
25 x 200
100 x 175
500 x 25

Right now, we typically have 5-8 players, but there has been quite a bit of expressed interest. Whether they actually show up or not is yet to be determined. I could see 14 or 15 showing up on the right night.

This set is more than sufficient for our .05/.10 cash games, obviously.

However, say we have 14 players for a tourney, and offer rebuys (or the "freebuy"/add-on--I really like this idea!).
T1000
10 x 5
10 x 25
7 x 100

I would also consider giving each player a purple 500 for the freebuy, if they bust out early, and letting the 500 be an add-on if they last till the break. 500s would not be in play till after the rebuy period is over.

I could handle six rebuys with the original stack config. But I'd be out of 25s, and down to 35 100s. Coloring up would be tricky.

Should I add more 25s, as well as 100s and 500s? Or should I just add 100s, 500s, and maybe a pack of 100s? How many of each?

Adding 2x T500s per player (whether re-buys, pre-buys, free-buys, add-ons, or just larger T2000 starting stacks) = 28 x T500 chips, plus you need 9x T500 for color-ups of the T5s and T25s (T100s will never require removal). That's 38 x T500s minimum, and your set has only 25. You're good on all of the other denomination quantities for.up to 20 players, and a total of 50 x T500s should be sufficient for future tourney expansion up to 20 players.

Extra 25x T500 is also good for T2500 no-continues games using 10-10-7-3 stacks for 20 Players.
