What’s up with this chip? (Circus Circus Nevada Mold) (2 Viewers)

I come across this chip on e Bay from time to time and it always catches my eye. The color is unique. Anyone know anything about the process behind it? Or any others that are similar? Is it plastic? Thanks!

It looks to me like a red clay chip with a hotstamp that fell into ink.

If I remember correctly there was a story that someone took a bunch of these and colored them black. Originally they were orange.

I don’t exactly remember the reasoning behind it but it’s one of the weirdest things that has happened with chips that I’ve seen. I just tried searching TheChipBoard for the story but I can’t find it

Hmmm…interesting. They do look colored. Whoever colored them did a good job because it is hard to tell what is going on with them
