Warning: German customs office is taking now 50% fee - Realy??? (1 Viewer)

Quite the reverse I suspect. Imports will be crippingly expensive in the UK because of brexit

So the + 25% extra fee is gone now if you import from US to Germany?

The "Europan Commission" is a bunch of idiotic and corrupt people, forming the most self-interested bureaucratic body in mankind's history. They are an enemy to every European nation and to Europe's togetherness and brotherhood.
If this view comes from smaller Member-States, it will not be heard.
Germans, please say it aloud.

Of course, the EU has been a boon to Europe, creating collaboration, cooperaton and inter-dependence, which now exclude the possibility of bloodshed among European nations, and this is an achievement to not be undervalued at all (world wars were born in Europe; let's not forget this).
But, for the EU to continue to function for the benefit of all nations, we need to do away with the "Commission" and have the European Parliament legislate, in which there should also be a Senate, representing nations equally, just like in the US Senate (so, equal number of Senators for Luxumbourg, Malta, Cyprus and Germany).

The European Parliament, of course, would have to hire new clerks and experts.
The "European Commission" people should get at last some honest jobs, like shoe-shining or prostitution.

I don't know.
I haven't had a shipment from the US last months. Maybe in April will come the next package from the US.
Please let us know here if this is the case. I am in contact with CPC and they said no more +25%... only 19% VAT.

Yes, since 2021-03-11 until 2021-07-10 directive C0030/21 is in effect, meaning there‘s no additional custom fee on imports. Still, 19% import tax though.
Should be able to confirm first hand the next days, just sent a declaration form yesterday for chips that arrived last week.

Good news. Unfortunately I have to wait min 9 months until production will be ready. So maybe i am bit in the ass again ;-)

As much as i agree with the rest of your statement, this would be totally idiotic. Why should 600.000 Luxumbourg citizens have the same amount of votes as 84.000.000 Germans? Your idea would mean that a citizen of Luxembourg would have 140x the influence on any decision compared to a German. Anything other than seats by population would be crazy.

Not so crazy. The UN General Assembly has 1 vote per nation.

Funny that you mention it. The UN sadly has no real powers. If the UN could change US laws like the EU can influence National laws withinh the EU, the UN would not exist.

Imagine every US State would have one vote for presidential election. I wonder what california would think when they have the same weight as Washington DC....

For the reason that, for better or worse, we are now one State (single currency means just that).
Delaware, Rhode Island, Montana, Alaska, California and New York State have equal representatives (2 each) in the US Senate.
Of course, they are represented proportionately, population-wise, in the House of Representatives.

If Germans do not like this, they should at least say so and vote so, in order for the rest of the Europeans to see what they can do.

Just received my last order and can confirm that they don‘t charge the extra 25% atm

We don't have a single currency. And we don't have a political union. And that would never be possible anyway.
I wanted to underline the historically illiterate folly of having a single currency without political union, or even an alliance.
Of course, member states outside the single currency are much more reasonable and consistent.

I just read in the news that the EU and USA agreed to suspend tariffs.

This piece of info is quite important for me as I'm about to pull the trigger on a CPC set...

[EDIT]
Anyway, even if there is tarrif, I'll still order my set. So I guess it's not very important in fact... :ROFLMAO:
