I bought these off an older gentleman that used to run a illegal gambling ring in the greater Seattle area. It was advertised like a “casino night” service but was actually dealing with real gambling. These boxes were custom made with hidden trap doors that they could close if they were getting robbed. They would stick big bills into one side and small bills into the other side and when they closed the door they would only see the small bills. There is one screw on the hinge that acted as the door release. Pretty cool stuff. They will need a little adjusting to be fully functional again as the doors seem to have a rough time releasing when closed.
$100 per box + shipping obo.

The second-to-last pic seems to show the mechanism open, while an earlier pic shows it closed.

Of course, if the thieves just take the whole box, you’re SOL.
Thieves don't want a heavy wooden box or the chips. They're just going to snatch the cash (that's visible) and run!

I think I understand the mechanism now. It seems like it's normally open, and the divider runs across the middle of the cash slot. Slip big bills in above the divider, and small bills below it. Then if thieves hit you, somehow you push or pop the divider up, so that when the door is opened, the divider appears to be the top of the cash box. Thieves snag the visible bills and run.

@Mtvernonbryan Is that correct?
