There's actually some space between the case and outline metal. You can slip thin paper in between the top and bottom.

It pulls right up
If I remember it’s one piece and pulls up with very little effort
Doesn’t break it you can put it back in later
If needed
I just stuffed some soft foam on the bottom but always thought @One Eyed Dollar could Make a cool middle tray like 3d printed

Or find some of the rows out of a broken case and cut to size
