So, the last time I was in Vegas I noticed that some of the casinos actually had USB plugs built into the tables so that patrons could charge their phones and the like. I was wondering if anyone knew what the makeup or layout of such a thing would look like?

Can you buy a single with 4 / 8 / 10 extensions - off shoots or do you have to install 10 separate USB plugs? I'm considering doing the same thing with my table, but I don't know where to begin or where to look to find the hardware to install it under my table.

Help?

I believe @courage built one into his main table.

However, where a casino needs power 24/7 (or at least for extended hours) I only need power for a few hours, so I picked up a couple of portable power sticks, similar to this, and just pass them out as needed. Because mine cane from a vendor at a convention, it has a logo, but was free. I also have a couple of universal USB adapters nabbed from the same convention. I feel this method is far more reasonable than wiring a table and worrying about wires on the floor running to the table.

And I also felt that a couple hundred chips was all I'd ever need. Reasonableness doesn't necessarily have much to do with anything. Not related to poker tables per se but I am looking at the possibility of a few floor outlets in the rec room. I have two options at this point: cut concrete or build a subfloor.

More to the point, if I were hot on adding USB ports to my table, portability would be a big thing for me, even if I had floor plugs. I'd probably rig something like this under the table for complete portability.

A 12 volt battery pack rated for 132 WH: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016BJCRUO/ref=twister_B01337QQHM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 and a multi-port USB charger designed for 12 volt use: https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Adaptive-Charging-Technology-Motorola/dp/B00LJK4HE0

Then run a USB extension to each of the corners. An iPhone 6's capacity is about 11 Wh (3.8 volts x 2900 mAh). Fully charging 8-10 phones on that pack shouldn't be a problem. I'm not a 24/7 casino. I'd need just enough to last a six hourish session, realizing that only a few guys would even use it.

I use two 5 port USB charging hubs to cover a 10 man table, one at the center of arc at each end of the table. I typically run the system through a small sub-base so all the wires are hidden and you only see the USB plug, but you can easily just attach the charging hubs and extension chords to the underside of the table. Here are a few pictures:

Have you considered just knocking the whole house down and rebuilding? Run wires before pouring the basement floor.

Honey, I have an idea for upgrading the poker table! Do we know anyone with a bulldozer? What do you mean be reasonable? Reasonable has nothing do do with it!

Ah, see, I'm smarter than that. If I do knock the house down and build again I'll run conduit. It'd suck to run 110V wires and then a year later decide I really need to upgrade to 440 for the machinery needed for whatever hobby I'm in at the moment.

Well, duh. That was implied... You don't think I was suggesting you bulldoze the house a second time if your hobbies changed, do you? Actually, pretty sure code would require conduit anyway.
