Last night, my COPAG Ks bent on the corner. A real bend too. We were all pretty surprised. They're 5 years old I'm sure. In the past, I returned several cards of a 4 color deck, due to faded colors and they replaced that deck. To be honest, I don't care for their color shades anyway, but I have two decks.

Anyway, I'm not peeved at COPAG, just wondering what a nice upgrade would be. Here are my concerns with my COPAGs, which have performed very well for me over the years:

1 - They still tend to be slippery at times. Odd, because sometimes the well played deck is more slippery than the color decks, which don't get used often.

2 - If I were to get a 4 color deck again, I'd like one with better shades than the COPAGs. The diamonds are just hard to look at!

So, just looking for an upgrade and curious what you all suggest. Forget about price. You can list them in order of preference and I'll sort it out ;)

Thanks. Do the Fournier Congress come in poker size? My COPAGs are 2.5" x 3.5" Jumbo and I like them.

I love Fournier Congress as well but do they come in Four color suits?

I think that was one of the things he wanted to have

Don't need 4 color at all. I was just thinking I might like their 4 color vs COPAGs.

For now, standard are fine. Are the Fournier much better than Modiano?

Where can I find Fournier?

Do they come in jumbo, poker size?

If you like I have an extra Copag/Poker/Jumbo/Green/Burgundy setup, new in the wrapper that I can't use. I'm happy to donate them to your table, just LMK.

They come in jumbo but I believe they are bridge size. That is why I had recommended the modiano platinum which come in poker size and jumbo index.

A gracious offer and as I have a bergundy speed cloth, I might have to accept. The color combo might really work! I'll PM you. Maybe I can return the gesture in some way, or find a way to pay it forward.

Jason @desjgn is having a sale right now. I have heard very good things about those, and just bought a couple setups. Modiano PA have been my go to for a few years now. I've tried a lot of setups, and certainly recommend the PAs.

Poker size -- Modiano Platinum
Bridge size -- Fournier, Piatnik, Gemaco Superflex

Bicycle Prestige are some really decent cards for the price. Available in both bridge and poker size. Made by Fournier.

Why do you prefer the bridge size?
Easier to handle/shuffle/deal, and take up less poker table real estate.

Also easier to do the one hand squeeze to check your cards. Harder to do with poker size

Nice table! Who made it?

Thanks. Poker shark tables in PA, before he really got going. He was and still is selling economical tabletops, but he can do top shelf as well. I provided the brown and black vinyls and asked for the padded track - didn't want wood. I was at his shop a couple times to drop off the fabric, pick up the table, etc. The seams were hand stitched.

After I picked up the top from him, I added some fabric cord to give it a finished look. I bought a $50 oak pedestal table on CL and used the base for this table. Hard to beat this setup for a social table.

Thanks. I think i'm going to try out a few options and see where I land. I just ordered these in bridge size. I have to be honest, there are times when I feel the poker sized cards are a bit big. There's one guy who always shuffles/shoots a card or two out at least once every game! Another guy usually spills a shuffle here and there. That's the funniest because he's an event dealer...

I'll trace down some Piatniks, etc.

This forum is killing my guys. I'm introducing new chips, new cards, etc. They've given up tracking chips colors and we've only had 3 variations in the past few weeks. I'm just taking it up a notch and trying to find the sweet spot. It reminds me of a comment a friend made to his wife once - he plays at my game as well. He's a character and does a lot of goofy stuff. His wife says, "no one thinks you're funny." His response: "I'm not doing it for them." Same thing with my chips and cards ;)

Trident Cards. They sell on eBay or Amazon. I have bought lots of cards from them over the years. Solid vendor

Some people will prefer Fournier over Modiano, and others will prefer Modiano over Fournier. It all depends on what you like. I've had both, and sold the Modiano's to another host, as I just prefer the feel and look of the Fournier's.

I've purchased my Fournier's and blue/red poker size jumbo Bicycle Prestige (made by Fournier) from seller euro_magic on eBay...in both cases, the cards were shipped to me in 10 days, and were cheaper than I could get in Canada or the US, including the Modiano PA's. That said, you might get a better price from Trident via Amazon.

The bridge-sized cards were a revelation to me. And because of the pip size (on the piatniks at least), despite the smaller size of the cards they're actually marginally easier to identify.

I don't know if this is an *improvement* prey tell but you could always pick up a "no revoke" deck from Avonmore if you need a 4-color deck.

I will say that I stayed away from Fournier cards because of the Jumbo Index. I like Modiano better.

I've been playing poker for a long time and it just never would occur to me to use "poker" sized cards. They do take up a lot of room and (I think) are harder to handle.
FWIW I've never seen poker size cards used in a casino poker room.

I'm quite sure there are no Piatnik plastic cards available in bridge size. I'm Austrian and have never seen any plastic cards from Piatnik other than poker size.
By the way one of my favorite decks. But I also like the Modiano Platinum Acetate a lot. Copaqs were my first decks of playing cards as long as it is related to poker.
I don't like their slipperyness.

I'm bewildered. A player, whose opinion I greatly respect, Said I would hate the bridge cards. I received my Fournier Congress Jumbo Bridge cards yesterday. What I noticed immediately was what I didn't notice. After a little shuffling, I did notice that they handle a bit easier, but didn't actually feel any different in the hand, if that makes sense. I like that they're smaller. I like the jumbo. I didn't notice any functional difference, so that I would have to make change in grip, etc., when shuffling. I just shuffled. I didn't notice any issue dealing a hand. I'm not a large guy, but can palm a basketball. these cards felt fine to me. I viewed my hole cards, without issue. The only real difference I noticed, and not while handling them, is that they are slightly thicker than COPAGs. Good?/Bad? dunno. I guess he/I will find out tonight, because these are the cards hitting the table.
