Are these real Copags? (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone, so I've been looking for a replacement for my Copag 1546 cards - they've served me well for the past four or so years of infrequent hosting, however I've been hosting games more regularly since the start of this year and the wear is beginning to become noticeable (slight discolouration, dings from rough handling etc)

I purchased a deck to take a look and so far they seem quite similar to the 1546s except for a different Joker and Ace of Spades design (picture: top row is the new deck, bottom row is my old 1546 Green). Feel-wise, this deck is very slightly stiffer than the 1546, and the bottom side is slightly more smooth and glossy. The cards shuffle fine but I haven't used this for a game yet so no idea how well they deal. The deck also came with a red cut card which I found very helpful, as the two-deck set didn't have any included.

My question is: is this a legitimate Copag product, or am I buying a Chinese imitation? I'm aware that there are imitation WPT cards out there at around the same price point, but so far from my limited handling this feels almost as good as the "real" thing, and I couldn't find anything online on whether or not this is a genuine product. Those “ $4 copag deal” you saw are faked China decks which you could buy them in bulks around $2 each from Taobao/China.

The pricing is a huge tell that it is not real.

They are not a bad option if you need to reopen a new deck every session as they are more cost effective compare to legit copags however they are make with much harder card stock which make shuffling experience way less enjoyable and have the card bleeding issue after 1-2 long poker sessions usage

Agreed. These are common online here. If the box quality doesn't give it away, the thickness and stiffness of the card will.

This is not to say that you can't play with them. Heck, I think they will probably last longer than a real deck of Copags.

Your dealer's arthritis won't thank you though =)

You can buy them on Shopee and Lazada from where you are, I'm sure. At that price you can abuse them all you want. They are very sturdy cards.

I am curious though what card brands are available locally in SG. All you can get retail here in Manila are some COPAGs and Bicycle Duraflex. How about you over there?

Oh yes, definitely, meant I'll have to ask my players to be a bit more careful with the actual Copags we have

I saw some Faded Spade cards on ecommerce platforms, other than that just Copag and a glut of the fake Copag/WPT cards. Might give the Faded Spades a try if(when) I make my next decks purchase.
