Cash Game Ugh...bank short $100 (1 Viewer)

Been there done that. Hopefully your game survives.

It sucks but this is a host job if your going to host. Its host responsibility if its short.

If your going to host everything is your responsibility. Your house Your rules Your responsibility.

If you outsource responsibility - you cant outsource consequence.

If something goes wrong the consequence is always worn by the game

Don't let it happen again. Putting this job in someone elses hand is just irresponsible. then they have to wear the loss!?!?

whoever was banker was, he was doing you a favor. Might want to think about that. He was helping you and he got punished for it.

to add to that then other people get punished by helping the dealer out with the loss.

Its not their issue its yours.

everything that happens at a home game good or bad is only and always the hosts responsibility.

because no matter what - your game wears the consequence.

When I host, I'm banker, or someone I trust to do a good job. The Banker is always responsible for the money, period.

So I do agree the banker should have a hard cash in/chips out policy, but the bank is working for the house and the house is responsible to pay out all markers. If you want to run a casino style house game with hundreds/thousands of dollars on the table you need to have some hard fast rules so this thing never happens. Sorry but if the bank is short its the house that need to make good, not the guest that the house put in charge of the bank. If I'm the host I may be pissed off at the guy who messed up the bank but it's my responsibility to make good because its my game, period. The host is responsible to make sure all debts are paid. The reason it can't be the other way around is obvious in this case. The bank clearly told the host that he owed a buy in, if the bank is totally responsible then that ruling must stand, and the host owes $100 because the bank said so. You can't have this guy 100% responsible for the money and then tell him your not paying when he said you owe a buy in. Having said that, this situation should NEVER EVER take place because there should ALWAYS be a hard cash in/ chip out policy no matter who is asking for chips. This can of worms will never be opened if that is the case. In this case I would have probably just chipped in a few bucks just to not have the ugly. What if the bank was short $500 or $1200? UGLY!! cash in/ chips out 100% of the time!!
