If something sells publicly, repeatedly for a specific amount, that provides future buyers peace of mind that they can purchase without fear of losing thousands.
Makes sense to me. Also why publicly disclosing sales prices makes 100% sense.

Gotta find the next level to chipping! Prices are yuck, the latest grails and nagbs are blah, meetups are eh. We need something to stir up the pot in 2025. It won’t be me.
Hopefully someone finds a vault soon or someone goes off the deep end ban run or someone creates a 3rd site for funsies or someone wins a bracelet this year. I did think the PCF meme coin was unique at least.

i'd agree that's the case for common chips, not rarer ones.
specifically sets that go for upwards of over $5,000 there's a fraction of users who can afford those sets.
that's i wouldn't agree the price is as stable.

Personally, I think that creating actual rules for a marketplace would infinitely help.
So strange to promote and encourage obscurity and market opaqueness.
I think you’d see a lot more people who could suddenly afford high end chips if there were actually standards and exchange history. The last 3 times I expressed interest in a high value set, I instantly was texted/called/pmed about how dumb the price point was and I’d be losing thousands.
But speculation is the norm unfortunately, so a not small number of folks that could save for or afford high end sets, actively choose not to.
None of this of course has to do with this sale. It is a hilarious yet well made, and awesomely executed personal group buy.

Absolutely gorgeous chips! I know you’re not interested in a split and in seems blasphemous to even contemplate breaking the set, based on their back story, so I won’t even offer. GLWS and I’m sure they’ll find a great home!
