My Grail TRK sample set...missing the unique $1 which I will be going after this summer.
A box of the $5s was found awhile ago that had been in a storage fire. Many of the chips from the box had major blackened spots that can not be removed. I was lucky and found this undamaged $5 chip from an estate sale in Cali.

I just looked up the $5 and $25 chips to see how difficult they'd be for me to track down... now I feel poor :( :ROFLMAO:

I was not expecting this thread to be anywhere near as cool as it is when I opened it. I think I've truly caught the sickness, now.

I am still trying to find the article on the box of $5 that was found in 2012. Until then there were just a few known. The box was totally charred and most of the chips were charred as well and beyond cleaning since the clay was burned (I assume). There were a few chips I think perhaps in the middle of the box that escaped in relatively decent shape. Here is one from last year that made it to eBay.

There should be one at the convention...bring your wallet! ;)

I have a chip blog that i started a few years ago to document chip finds. I have been terrible at keeping it up. Here is link to the find of those chips. Has a reference link to the Chip Board.

This picture makes me sad and happy at the same time. I think even a burned one is cool because of the provenance

Holy Smokes..that's you? Wow. Exactly the article I was referring to. Thanks Greg

Yeah.. i should try to keep it more up to date. I also saw on old reference in the "links" to the other site. Now its updated for PCF!

I try not to collect hot stamps because that just opens up a ton of other chips to collect. But these just changed my mind.

Finding them with the hot stamps intact is always hard too

Anybody have one of these they were looking to sell?
