Received a PM from user @Emitsu two days ago asking if I had chips to sell him, and whether I would ship to Canada. I responded yes and offered to transport the chips to Canada for him, reducing the shipping costs, since I was about to travel to Canada for the holidays. We quickly agreed quantities and price.
When I gave him the paypal payment details, he replied that he would rather pay me in person, and that I should bring the chips to meet him rather than ship within Canada. Since this is a member with zero feedback, his reluctance to send payment raised red flags because this is not the norm on PCF - normally payment is made in advance before chips are sent or delivered.
He re-assured me that he intended to purchase the chips, and I agreed to deliver the chips in person, saving him the shipping costs, and accept payment in person.
Now, today, with the chips already transported to Canada, packed in my car and ready to be delivered, @Emitsu writes me to say he’s backing out of the deal because he bought another set.
This is an example of the worst kind of flaky behavior by a buyer. Ask someone to transport several kilograms of chips in their luggage on a trans-Atlantic flight, and then back out of the deal at the last minute. No compensation for my time or the trouble I went to was offered.
TL;DR: I’m sorry to say it, but this user is to be avoided. @Emitsu you caused serious inconvenience for me over my holiday, and then told me it was my own fault because I didn’t respond to your PM or your payment terms quickly enough. I hope the couple of bucks you saved on your chips was worth putting another PCF member out.
