Getting close to placing my order for a tourney set with CPC. Trying to settle on the breakdown. Historically, I play/host mostly single table tourneys, but I would like a set that can handle a 24-person T10k tourney routinely with the flexibility to occasionally host larger numbers of players at T5k or maybe even T10k. I want flexibility. And chips.

A couple breakdowns that appealed to me from other posts:

Up to 30 players with 880 chips:

240 x T25
240 x T100
120 x T500
210 x T1000
70 x T5000

Up to 27 players with 800 chips:

220 x T25
220 x T100
110 x T500
190 x T1000
45 x T5000
15 x T25000

I like the emphasis on the T1000 chip in both, and the inclusion of the T25k chip in the later.

Also have a preference for full racks. Within reason. Though, reason doesn't seem to apply consistently on this site...

For 24 players, I'd go with this:

220 x T25
220 x T100
100 x T500
200 x T1000
40 x T5000
20 x T25000
-----------
800 chips -- seven full racks, one mixed rack

For 24 players, I'd go with this:

220 x T25
220 x T100
100 x T500
200 x T1000
40 x T5000
20 x T25000
-----------
800 chips -- seven full racks, one mixed rack

What if I want to make it a clean 1000? Where would you put the extra chips?

240 x T25
240 x T100
120 x T500
300 x T1000
80 x T5000
20 x T25000

or

240 x T25
240 x T100
120 x T500
280 x T1000
80 x T5000
40 x T25000

Something else?

More chips means more options

1000 Chips maybe this?

240x25 240x100 180x500 300x1000 40x5000

Starting Stacks

16/16/12/2 12/12/9/4 or 8/8/6/6

Have you considered a 2000 chip?

240x25 240x100 420x500 100x2000

Starting Stacks

For your purposes, I'd start with this:

290 x T25
290 x T100
120 x T500
180 x T1000
80 x T5000
40 x T25000

for a total of 1000 chips. This allows up to 50K stacks (12/12/5/6/3/1 - 39 chips plus a bounty for two full barrels per player) for up to 24 players, and pretty much anything else you'd ever want to do. Use your extra T1000s to color up the T25/T100 chips, and T5000s to color-up the T500s (if/when your event plays that big). You can have massive stacks when hosting a single-table event (100K - 20/20/11/17/5/2 for 75 chips/player, or 20/12/17/5/2 if not using T25 chips).

However, if you want full racks, figure you're eventually gonna want 30x bounty chips and 30x re-buy chips, and bumping the T25/T100 totals to 300 each seems prudent. I'd also bump the T1000 count to an even 200, leaving you at:

300 x T25
300 x T100
120 x T500
200 x T1000
80 x T5000
40 x T25000
30 x bounty chips
30 x re-buy chips

for a total of 1100 chips (nine full racks and two mixed racks). Store the 25K and bounty/re-buy rack separately, and break them out when needed.
