Hi, all.

As a newbie, I've seen several posts that use short hand for describing tournament chips. I would think there is already a thread somewhere detailing how to translate these short hands. Could someone point me in the right direction so I can educate myself?

Thanks!

RJ

Out of curiosity, what terms in particular are you wondering about?

Thank you! Very helpful...I picked up a few explanations there, for example, difference between a rack and a barrel. What is "flashing" on a chip? I assume it's sharp edges...? Am I off?

I also am wondering when people describe tournament chips, they put a Capital T in front of it...What does that mean?

Thanks in advance!

RJ

P.S. BS, being a poor poker player myself, I'm quite familiar with the term Donkey...although, Scrub Donkey? I assume it can't be good...

Flashing is excess material from injected molded plastic. Not really a tournament thing but low quality plastic anything (including poker chips) can have this

And T25 instead of $25 because the chip is worth 25 tournament currency units. Not 25 dollars

^^ This. The capital T is also used to describe stack sizes (T10000 in total starting chip units, for example) or bet sizes ("he raised to T1400") in addition to a chip's specific denomination.
