I'm going to be traveling up to Toronto once a quarter for work starting next week. I will probably have an evening to myself and am looking for a place to play some NLH but actually close to downtown as I won't have a car and am not looking for a 3 hour tour.

Thoughts? Ideas? Skip poker and stick to hookers and blow?

Unfortunately, there are no casinos/cardrooms in the downtown core.

The closest casino with a poker room is in Niagara Falls. It’s about an hour drive (assuming no traffic….which is a very poor assumption)

There are slots at Woodbine racetrack and charity casinos (slots, blackjack, etc.) outside of the city (Ajax) but that’s still a 45 minute drive from the core.

I recently stumbled upon this poker room online, actually found it randomly on IG.

I’m not sure how exactly they are skirting around the legalities but I assume it’s the “No rake” even tho they are pulling from the pot for their bad beat among other things. They also appear to charge a fee on buy ins.

Anyways I haven’t played there myself but it looks to be a decent operation based on the info online, IG and their website.

Worth a look I suppose. Not downtown but a short Uber away.

Blah. Thats a bummer. Anything I should find time to check out when in town in the future?
