Time to limit the bumps for classified wanted ads? (1 Viewer)

So we could cut down on these by limiting the number of new members each week or something? Crazy idea but it is 2020

But, NO. Do not limit new members.

I'm sure it's all just cyclical. But.....

We've had an influx of users and buyers. I don't much look at classifieds these days, but when I do it's often a wall of "Wanted". One option is to look at "For Sale" or "Trade" ads by themselves.

I think it's a fair question to ask though, when one thing completely takes over, should it be slightly nerfed? I don't much care personally one way or another. In that same vein, it does make it seem all that much more bizarre that auctions were spun out, when visibility to those is so important and they didn't seem to take up a large amount of the Classifieds space to begin with.

I ran ten auctions I normally would of listed “For Sale.” It was a simple attempt to drive traffic to that “new” Avenue.

I don't get why sellers have ten different threads with one rack each in them and bump them all daily. It doesn't bother me, but I just don't get it. Isn't easier to consolidate on one thread? What am I missing?

I actually do think wanted ads should be separated. Again, not because I'm bothered by seeing them, but I just don't think people normally not looking to sell chips are reading all the want ads and just happen to be like, "oh I have those so I guess I'll sell them." Maybe they do, but I can't see it happening that often.

I will say that I've gotten responses to my wanted ads more often than not.
I suppose it helps if you're looking for chips that actually exist.

I personally admire Tommy for not replying to these attempts to tell him how to run his site. Queue the applause meter please.
Damn these people for sharing user experiences on HIS site! The audacity.

And if only there was a way to share that admiration or applause meter......
