Tiger Palace Primary

25¢ x 1 Rack

$25 x 4 barrels

This is not a dibs. I will take names of those interested in buying. Buyers will be chosen randomly.

tl:dr speed instructions:

Bottom line: This is a random draw to see who has a chance to buy the chips. Winners will be determined late Monday morning.
  1. Reply in this thread if you are interested in buying the cents rack or the dollars barrels with either "in cents" or "in dollars" or "in both"
  2. I will randomly draw to narrow it down to a "finals" list of 16 people for each denomination.
  3. One from each "finals" list will be chosen randomly.
  4. Those winners will be PMed on how to pay.
  5. ...
  6. What are you waiting for!??! Reply with: IN (something)

Full instructions:

The rack of 25¢ and the 4 barrels of $25 will have separate semi-finals and finals lists.
The chips will be sold at the original KK405 prices.

The entire 25¢ rack will be sold to one person chosen randomly.
The price of the rack is $700

All 4 barrels of $25 will be sold to one person chosen randomly.
The price of 4 barrels is $480

State your interest to buy the rack or the barrels by replying in this thread with the following:
"In cents" if you want to buy the 25¢ rack.
"In dollars" if you want to buy the 4 barrels of $25
"In both" if you want to buy both the rack and the 4 barrels.

How people will be chosen (optional info):

Everyone who is in will be added to the "semi-finals" list.
Then I will randomly select 16 people from all eligible entries to create a 16 person "finals" list.
Then, one winning person from each 16 person "finals" list will be chosen randomly. After the person is chosen, I will PM them with payment info and ask for their shipping address.

Deadline to get in is: Sunday Jan 29 2023 at 9PM central time.
The "finals" list will be posted later that night.
The names to make up the 16 person "finals" list will be chosen by using https://www.random.org/lists/

The 1 winner of each "finals" list will be chosen Monday, late morning.
The single winner will be chosen by looking at the last digit of the hash of Ethereum blocks.
1674708679675.png

In this example, the winner would be number 5.

For the 25¢ rack, block number 16520000
For the 4 barrels of $25, block number 16520100
If a winner can not be determined by the last digit of the hash, then the second-to-last digit will be used, then the third-to-last digit, etc. until a winner is found.
Using this method, I have no way to influence the outcome and there is no way to pre-determine a winner. Also, winning numbers can be verified after the drawing by clicking the block links above and expanding "click to see more" then looking at the Hash.

Shipping in the USA with no insurance will be $11 (insurance is recommended, but optional).
worldwide-png.1043970
I will ship internationally.
worldwide-png.1043970

Shipping insurance and international shipping, extra.
Payments accepted: PayPal FF, or PayPal GS (if you pay the fees), or Zelle, or
usd-coin-usdc-logo.png
USDC crypto.

All chips come in Paulson Chip boxes.

Reply in our PM if you want insurance or/and shipping internationally.

For the love of the chipping Gods, @ people who want these things. Especially people who have wanted ads.

Please feel free to ask questions in the thread as well. This is the most convoluted way to pick a winner I've ever seen on PCF. So, no question will be considered a "dumb question."

FAQs

WTF is this sh!t? Why not just have a poker showdown like everyone else?
I love a good poker showdown as much as anyone. However, the method I'm using is determined randomly buy computers, not by a human shuffling cards. The method to determine the winner from the "finals" list (using the block hash), is completely random and there's no way I could fudge it at all. It's also able to be verified after the fact by anyone.

Why does the Finals list have 16 entries and why does it start with "0" and go past 9 to "f"?
Block hashes use hexadecimal numbers. Meaning that each single digit goes up to 15. Like this...
1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ,6, 7, 8, 9, a (10), b (11), c (12), d (13), e (14), f (15)

And if you start with 0, that's 16 different numbers using a single digit.

Alright folks!

The Finals list has been determined. Just skip to the list if you want, the next part is optional and is going to be a refresher of the boring but technical, complicated, and provably fair way the lists were determined.

The semi-finals list were ordered in a first come first serve basis, except for a few (cough @liftapint cough :p) who removed their name and then later put it back on, so they moved down the list. There should be a paper trail of everyone entering by looking at the replies of this thread if you really want to get into the weeds. I randomized the list and the first 16 are in the Finals.

If you like, you can recreate the finals list yourself using the method I used:
  1. Go to https://www.random.org/lists/?mode=advanced
Yes, Advanced mode. The only mode for connoisseurs of convoluted.™
  2. Copy and paste in the list names, one per line
  3. In "Part 3" at the bottom, use "Use pregenerated randomization based on persistent identifier"
  4. The identifiers I used were a predetermined word (which only I knew) and the number of entries for that list (which I had no way of knowing).
You can see the identifiers for each list below
  5. In "Part 4" click the randomize button and select the first 16 names

Tomorrow you will be able to check to see who actually won the right to purchase by checking the last digit of the hash of the Ethereum blocks:
For the 25¢ rack, block number 16520000
For the 4 barrels of $25, block number 16520100
The links above will automatically update to show the hash after the countdown ends. When the the countdown ends, click on the "click to see more" expander link at the bottom and then you can see the hash. Compare the very last digit and see who won!

Finals List - one person from each list will get to purchase the chips.

Sorry coming to my own party late. (I feel under the weather).

This was the best way someone could have won this! Seriously, I'm feeling bad this morning, but that brought a huge smile to my face.

LOL. Man I didn’t even know there was directions. I just entered and closed my eyes ever since
And this is why it was so complicated... for me!
All anyone has to do was say they're "in." I do the difficult part.

But, since this is a provably fair way to pick, anyone could check on my behalf. Like this...
0x5c39e08122e76e9b23710e5c58498e4895e103dcbb9676854b8f48524670ffe4
This is the hash for the 25¢ rack. The last digit is: "4" and that was @moechar number. Congrats. Hang tight for a PM from me.

And now for the four barrels of $25 chips...
0x1513ccb5ce54826e59aafaa1f20fbace2c8a503339434a8967d2c545685b62a2

Looks like 2 for the $25
Maybe
@HaRDHouSeiNC is correct. The last digit is 2 and that is @FordPickup92 number. Congrats. Expect a PM from me.

Despite this being confusing and convoluted, I hope everyone had fun entering. I had fun hosting it.

Thank you to everyone that entered!

Cool deal overall. I had a thread awhile back on how best to do a giveaway that can be proven to be aboveboard, and nothing quite met that standard.

So kudos to you Carnth on figure that out!

In other news, if Chippers have returned to the forum enough to join in contests or giveaways, does that mean the rest of us can resume as well and it's not too soon to joke? Asking for a friend, as she apparently blocked me.....
