Things that make you Happy (46 Viewers)

On Saturday I took my kids skiing for the first time ever. My 5 year old loved it and turned out to be a really fast learner!

Afterwards she asked me "Dad, can we go skiing again tomorrow?" and I was like "When the fuck did you learn English??"

Three years later! Still makes me happy!

Good lawyers !!
My son's reckless driving was not only reduced from reckless to speeding before the trial occurred, but then he got the judge to bring it down to PBJ with no points and only the fines + court fees. Huge win, considering that is now a jailable misdemeanor in the state of MD and 6 points with a possible license suspension.

I guess judge was told behind closed doors that the young man was delivering your chips.;)

Dealing! After 15 years, I still love it. two days ago I got to deal duece to seven to Dnegs, and then the last four hours of the 10k omaha8 day two. They just got into the money and it was pretty intense. It was fun until I got confused on quartering a three chip pot, and by confused I mean I just looked at the chips and hands for like four extra seconds trying to make sure who was in position. If you blink for one second in those big games, the players will not hesitate to tell you exactly what to do.

Yeah, as @upNdown said, Probation Before Judgement. Essentially, no points or anything (especially no jail time); however, if he gets a ticket within the next year, not only will they not reduce that, they could enforce the previous judgement and stick it to him. PBJ is the best outcome as, while it goes on your driving record, it will not increase the car insurance payments or put points on the license.

He's about to start driving the trucks at work too, so had he had points or the reckless on his record, that wouldn't have happened, and he'd more likely than not need to find a new job.

He's been lectured enough by me to slow down (but not too slow) ;)

I’ve seen some coverage of uncertain dealers in WSOP mixed games over the years and those players seem very happy to just run those games themselves.
But that’s a cool job.
How’s the new dealing rating system working out for you? Is it a big deal?

Lol this is a great way to put it: that extra second of hesitation in my head then the rest of my brain needs to independently fact check all other parts of the hand which leads to an extra extra few seconds!

I'll agree but I just deal for fun. I love helping people at the table and making sure the game runs smoothly, feels like a rhythm.

a lot of talk about it. But not too big of a deal I'm guessing. They have a daily reward system for the top three dealers who get the highest/most ratings. But I'm not sure if they will be posting the ratings otherwise. It would be cool to see our ratings, but they haven't mentioned it. While I was dealing the O8 in the back of mind I was thinking, shit, they might give me one star! haha. It's funny, those guys are playing for six figures+ but I often feel like the most nervous person at the table.

Congratulations! Be aware that as soon as you pay off your house you’ll drop about 70-80 pts. I did. :D
yeah that makes no sense whatsoever. You pay off an enormous loan, and suddenly you are less credit worthy? Looking forward to mine dropping for the same reason in the next month or two.

Same here.

Then I thought: I paid off my house, paid off my cars, and will buy all future vehicles with cash. I carry no credit card debt beyond the month. If I suddenly start running up a debt it's because I'm out of money and retired.

They ain't getting paid back - and the credit score reflects that they know it.

Yes, credit is about your ability and likely hood of being able to service your debts. If you have no debts, they have nothing to gauge if you can/will pay off your debt, and like zombie said, maybe you are older and income has changed. Many factors. Also, I think credit scores might matter a lot more in the US than in Canada. In Canada it’s more about your credit rating with banks and regular income. Credit score just kind of tells you roughly where you might sit.

Well, I got the diabetes diagnosis on April 18. 8.8 A1C and fatty liver disease. I’m totally FREAKED out.

Went to the 20:4 warrior fasting diet. Been doing it everyday. Once a week, I attempt a 48 hr fast.

Removed all bad things. Just eating whole foods. Quit everything. It’s been nearly 2 months.

I’ve proven to myself I can turn my life around. Dropped my blood pressure from 137/95 to 125/85 (these are averages). Dropped my blood sugar to being mostly in the 5.5-6.8 range. Reversed acid reflux disease. Sleep better. Skin is different. All without medication. I was prescribed all manner of chems and I refused them all. Fuck that shit. Gonna fight with willpower. Not gonna succumb to pills at 47.

I’m always hungry and life is hard, but it’s how I’m going to fight back. I’ve lost 30lbs and I just keep at it.

The results…are making me happy. Motivated to sustain this lifestyle and make the weight stay off and give my cells a chance to recuperate. Living the Keto life and letting Autophagy run a program every week. Salvation for people like me lies in our own hands. It’s in the food we eat.

Anyways, I’m very happy and proud of myself. Nobody knows what I’m going through but it’s not easy living this way. I fast now for 24hrs each day. I keep pushing the boundaries of my body.

So far, I’ve managed to reach 45hrs, water only. It gets uncomfortable but my goal is to train my body to fast for 72 hrs and then repeat it once a month.

Any other Type 2 diabetics in their late 40s, with non alcohol fatty liver disease and heart disease? Let’s talk!
