I believe it. Last meetup Grindr notification went off, after that everyone’s phones were on silent rest of meetup. Guessing everyone didn’t want to tip off others to their chip finds.

I think there must be lots of rare chips on there.

We r not even close there yet 20-30 years olds are still using clay.

You right you right. I was thinking like, worthwhile clay like stuff that will make them want to come back for it or take it home.

But for sure, if they’re even exposed to clay, if they had a choice they’ll most likely look for that over all else no doubt.

As the clays phased out, we prob won’t see the dropoff in interest. Generation after us is where I’m curious as to their affinity for the more obscure/rarer/older nostalgic collectable stuff.

And I still think it comes down to knowledge and awareness. I’m sure most game runners have zero fkn clue you can get clay chips, but again the cost is prohibitive to our hobby ans it’s difficult to overcome the obstacles to simply buy…however we appeal to people that gamble. They are already poor with money mgmt lol
 
I'll be surprised if in 20-30 years, chips aren't exchanged via an app. Always have exact count of stacks and pot, chopped pots are handled instantly, it's clean, and it's using a device, which toddlers (the people that will be playing poker in 20-30 years) are already proficient at today.

However I’m also not sure how much more can they really go up in value. Maybe a few historical sets can get caught up in the craze, but it’s still a very overpriced hobby.

Truth.

My friends want affordable housing and are trying to navigate life as the first ever American generation to have 0 access to the one American path of long term financial security and wealth building.

But I’m just over here like please sell me your singles for less than 200% market price.

Is it bs that people bought the 400 chips for $1,849 and flipping them for like $800 a rack (nobody specifically just in general)? Isnt that just freerolling off of PCF folks

Or is it that their release price was too low and should've been higher to start with?

I get that with limited chip releases they can't please everyone. Would be curious to hear peoples thoughts on this.

Are you talking about Tigers? They were at $9+ for the same base cost. Or RPC - same deal.
You are going to have to be more specific in which NAGB you are talking about.

Moreso for the vendor. They went thru all the effort and risk, and they left a lot of consumer surplus on the table. To me, flipping these new sets is the same as flipping the "new members deals"
