I dont think it devalues the brand at all. Royal Oaks are still exclusive. What if Ducati made a bicycle? 😂😂
If they did it would probably be a high end bike…or they would charge a lot of money for it. Imagine Ferrari making a go cart? 😂

That said this isn’t AP making anything. They are just licensing their name

I know someone who spent 90k on a Mansory golf cart so… we know there’s people who would buy lol

All i’m saying is it’s a real AP collab, better than 1:1 models imo

Certina is a proper brand. And underneath is most probably a jewellers name. Pretty standard handwind mechanical if I had to guess. Pricewise, depends on the plating.

I got this old poket watch from my grandpa who passed away more than 20years ago.

Anyone familiar with these…?

The brand is making a little of a resurgence. The current company seem to be making watches with outsource Swiss movements but I’d do a google image search to find out exactly what this model is

On a more interesting note, to me personally because I am awaiting the arrival of my new MAD2 R&B watch (made by MB&F), here are a couple of videos. They are 60 Minute segments that really helped explain my love for Swiss watchs to my wife and other family members. Maximilian "Max" Büsser, the founder of MB&F summarizes it perfectly.

More general video about Swiss watch making:

Extended cut interviewing Max Busser:

Now I just need 60 Minutes to do an equally nice segment on poker chip collecting. :ROFLMAO:

Revisiting this thread after a few years away from the watch world. I posted a chunk of my collection on the first page back in 2018. I since sold most of those watches because battery changes suck. I kept the ecodrives etc.

I had a great poker session last week, which prompted me to look at getting a nice watch to wear everyday. I went into my local coin/jewelry shop (of which I am friends with the owner). He is a huge watch guy and had a number of fun and nice watches for sale.

I snagged a Seiko "Orange Monster" automatic and a Urban Safari Arnie. Got a real good deal on both.

Then found a Seiko Diver on FB marketplace for cheap, that needed a new capacitor. Its a NIB watch that has sat for 15 years, and the capacitor is bad now. $20 fix (hopefully).
