I’m proud to showcase a set of chips from an old, local establishment. The Recess Club was a men’s luncheon club established in 1928. The club was located on the 11th floor of famed Fisher Building in downtown Detroit, Michigan.
The men’s club had all the bells and whistles of the lauded, European and New York men’s luncheon clubs. Its membership reached 500 members and the club was open until 1990.
Changes in how business was conducted and offices moving out of the city contributed to the eventual decline in membership.
Chips are Bakelite paranoids with the logo of three business along with a fish and a goose.
