The Official Royals PrOn Thread! (2 Viewers)

Gotcha. I don’t have the color codes. Would be nice to have every color posted, but it’s entirely possible for different batches of chips to be slightly different colors.

Lighting could pose a problem, and I dont have every color, but this should be very close. However, just comparing this photo to the actual chip only means it's a good match on my 11 year old monitor. If my monitor was adding extra yellow to the photo, a color-match would be off by a like amount of yellow.

The only safe bet is a label printer who can produce the color and compare it to the actual chip.

This was kind of a start to what I am after.
You're both right, its really hard to get an extremely close EXACT color match.
This was my attempt, but again, the colors may be off more than I'd like! Do you know if something like this exists even for chips other than Royals?

Thanks man! Yeah I think it's just hard without a quality computer with advanced programs, and a lack of computer design skills!
Also: Everything looks really good image wise except for that pink! They're really close!

I FINALLY GOT THE ROYALS COLOR CODES! Maybe I'm the only one that's excited, but Kristil gave me all of the codes for the colors of the Royals chips.
*Note* A few of them definitely look off, but I simply typed in the CMYK codes and copied down the HEX numbers and RGB numbers.
Hopefully this can be helpful for others!

I’m looking for a quick (and cheap) case to transport 500 Royals. What are you guys using? I have the Bud Jones racks, but those of course don’t transport that well.

I have not transported mine outside of the home, but I think a Pelican case (or Sam's Club knock off) with the pick and pluck foam would be excellent for 500 chips in racks.

I wonder what dimensions I would need? (I’m at work today and can’t measure unfortunately)

I have the Apache 3800 case (sold by Harbor Freight stores). Some prefer the Nanuk 910. For only 500 chips, you may like the Nanuk case better. It's lighter and slightly smaller than the Apache case. This picture shows Matsui racks, but you can use your Bud Jones racks. Just don't pluck the foam to fit a 6th rack, since you don't need it. You'll still have room for card setups and dealer buttons.

Wonder if I could get a 3800 delivered by Friday? Does anyone local carry them that you know of @Himewad?

Edit: I see there are local Harbor Freight stores now.

By Friday, no chance. Harbor Freight took about a month to deliver mine.
Only chance is if there is a store near you.

Hey @CRAW FWIW I have the Nanuk 915 now and the 920 coming soon. You may be after something larger, but I’ll never get another brand of case for the money. These are such high quality, that in my opinion if I can’t afford a Nanuk, then I shouldn’t be getting a case. This one will fit 400 comfortably, and I’m assuming the 920 will fit 500-600 but I’ll find out shortly.

Thanks! Yeah, if you can let me know how the 920 works for more chips and what they look like in there, that would be great! Thanks again!

After the Apache re-stock, my Royals chip set is finally complete! Just over 1,400 chips in the set, plus plaques and dealer buttons in dual Apache 3800 cases.

Very nice bounties! Who did your labels? The color matching is nice!

Thanks. I purchased all of my labels from @ABC Gifts and Awards. I worked with Kristil, and she was (and continues to be) great to work with.

Damn right she is! I've only ever given ABC my own artwork for label creation. I'm curious; did ABC create your labels from scratch, or did you provide the label, but she was able to give you the color codes to put into your SVG file? Only asking in case I use ABC in the future for color-matched labels.

I actually mailed them my sample set of Royal chips so they could color match the labels to the chips.

The family looks so happy together! All of mine will be there by the end of today, then some labeling. I’ll post some pictures when everything’s completed! Great set @Himewad!!

So would there be a difference in what you used vs what I used? IDK
No clue. For chip oiling purposes, probably no difference.

So FWIW, I did an experiment over the last few weeks, and my "organic" grade mineral oil was indeed the factor in my chips going back to their chalky state. I borrowed my friends bottle of mineral oil that he uses on his cutting board (food grade, just not "organic") and re-oiled all my chips which are all the Royal colors except orange, and I didn't redo the whites as I feel the chalkiness doesn't show up on those any way. It's a night and day difference! I've played with them twice now and no chalkiness whatsoever. Glad I figured this out.

Again, FWIW... stay away from organic mineral oil for the Royals if you want to get rid of the chalkiness forever.

Note: I used the compression oiling method, but instead of letting them "dry" on a paper towel, I used some cooling racks from the kitchen.
