I bought a time/kitchen cooking clock that was a bomb and I would set it for every 45 minutes but it was cheap and broke :-(

Well if it's the official thread then ...

5cm & 4cm versions - the bigger one going to a friend who is a regular bomb-pot caller in my pub game for his birthday tomorrow :)

The smaller version in action in my home game yesterday. Our usual bomb-pot game is called 3D - 5 cards in hand with flop, turn, river dealt as 3 rows of 3 - play 2 from your hand and one from each row.

This was the one I picked from those available - simple, tilted slightly and with a flat bottom. Pipe cleaner for fuse looks great :)

Hey @trigs much like you said earlier this is one way I do them with my TPHS set which I use as 100x:
I give out one of these

to every player whenever they buy in for the full amount. (At the beginning & rebuys/In this case $100) They can play it whenever they're on the button

but can lose it to another player if they bust before using it. If a player has multiple they can use 1 or more at a time for multiple boards depending on how many they use. As I like props & half my players are inguaged in conversation when someone declares Bomb Pot I take off the chip & replace it with this

that makes noise & flashes. A little cheesy but I guess so am I?

I'd like to introduce bomb pots with my group but I'm unsure of the best format to start with, so I'll propose what I'm thinking and ask for feedback. We play 5c/10c with $10 buy-in, usually people do not re-buy because they don't want to lose more than $10 a night. We typically get 1 re-buy per night at most. Most players leave if they get stacked.
I don't want too many people getting felted in the bomb pot round and then leaving because they don't want to buy back in. Here's what I'm thinking:

Everyone will get a bomb pot chip at the start of the night. At any point during the night when they have the dealer button, players can elect to use their bomb pot chip to play a bomb pot. The ante will be 3BB, so $.30 per player. Any player can also choose not to participate. Then the dealer can choose 1 of 4 game options: NLHE, Lazy Pineapple, Super Hold Em, or Double Board Hold Em. After the bomb pot the dealer button will still move 1 player like normal.

My two concerns with bomb pots are: players getting felted and then leaving early disappointed, and the circus games being too complicated. I'm considering making the bomb pot a fixed limit game to prevent too many people from getting stacked.

Any thoughts from anyone introducing bomb pots and poker variants into their home games?

It’s common in high stakes games to do a max amount you can lose. You just have to remember to keep the chips in front of each player and don’t scoop them to the middle. In your limit maybe it’s $3.

In addition, since your players are getting familiar with them, I would avoid the double boards split pots. Get familiar first w seeing a flop w a forced ante.
