Hi all I got laid off 6 months ago from my Job that I had been at for about 21 years. We had sold and closed on our house the same week which was actually the last week of my work. We didn’t plan it that way so it was just perfect timing. Our original plan is we were going to sell our house and downsize a little. I wasn’t expecting to be laid off. The wife, my son and I moved in with my mom temporarily. But we were still looking for a house while I was laid off. We had found one in a town we liked and just closed on it in the last week of August. As our closing date was coming up within a few weeks before I got called for an interview that someone I knew had submitted my resume for. Long story short I got an phone interview and then it lead to an in person interview and led to me getting an offer. And now I passed the Background check and will start my new job on Monday.
During my time I was laid off I saw many poker chip sets I REALLY wanted to buy or bid on, but I just could not Justify spending the amount of money with my salary being dwindled to unemployment. I however was still able to pursue my passion of Collecting Dealer Buttons because it wouldn’t break the bank. I had also spent a lot more time in the Eastern PA Casinos playing poker and had a good time doing so but after a while it wasn’t as fun as in the beginning and I started to really worry about finding a job. Now I start a new job two weeks after we close on the house. This two weeks also gives me time to work on and set up the house. Perfect timing again. Good fortune from God which I am certain of.
So if you’ve read all that you can now get ready for the good part. I want to Celebrate my good fortune by doing a dealer button giveaway. Here is how it is going to work. One of my other favorite things is Football and the NY Giants. The Giants will play the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday at 1 PM EST and they will be part of the contest.
Here is the contest. It is open to the first 75 people starting on Saturday at 12 Midnight to Sunday 12 PM EDT. One entry per person. US and Canadian residents only. Shipping is covered. Sorry international brothers & sisters. For the Giants and Jaguars game you must guess the total combined score of the game. Your picks must be submitted between Saturday 12 am and Sunday 12 pm EDT. Any entries before the time period or after the time period do not count.. You can post on this thread anytime, but entries will only be accepted during the time period specified. Any edits of your entry after the times specified make it void also. So starting at 12 AM Saturday the first person will write #1 at the top of their post and their guess , then the next person will write #2 and their guess, and #3 and guess, etc... until we reach #75. Once we reach #75 that’s it. If two or more people guess the same number and that number wins I will put all the people with that number in a hat and pick a name for that prize. It will be like the price is right. If two people are two points off the score and one is above and one is below the person who is closest w/o going over wins. So the person who guesses the exact score or is closest gets the Grand Prize which is a region 1 Snatch Deluxe DVD set with the Snatch DVD, Snatch card set, and Snatch Dealer button. If you look up Dealer Button on Wikipedia that Snatch Dealer button is what comes up. I bought this set as used but the cards are still sealed and the Dealer Button is in great shape. The next closest score will get the 2nd prize which is the Taj Dealer button which Sal from OWPS did. I was working on a custom Taj set with him before he passed. RIP Sal. The third closest will get the 3rd prize which is the Rounders DB, 4th closest is a Caesar’s Palace DB, and 5th closest is the ESPN poker club Button I had gotten like 10 years ago. I will contact each winner for their address. Since this is a giveeaway you’ll need to give me a few weeks to get the things out. Unlikely with the new job I’ll have time to do anything during the day on a weekday.
